Which LSB's?

Can't see what's being measured in the Glassvik photo s the image is dark and shot such that I can't make out any door details. Don't even know where the inside and outside of the frame are in that photo. :)

Anybody know if they are making the double length Glassvik door as shown in the manual? The people at my local Ikea only knew how to shrug and look confused.

Ok, so it sounds like Glassvik about 2" and Vasbo about 2 5/8"

I'll be picking up a Besta unit and one of each door type for design/testing purposes to make sure the lights kits I'm putting together are a perfect fit.

Yeah, Glassvik's borders are thinner but much more expensive due to the material, it is much heavier as well. My IKEA has tons of TOMBOs available for $10 so I'm just picking up all of those... LOL

Those do look great in there. I think my issue is because mine are mounted up near the ceiling above my tv. The viewing angle makes the bottom border cover up alot when you sit, and the top cover up a lot when you stand.

Also, the issue i am having is in the height extension or media center shaped besta w the vassbo doors. i should have been more clear

Yeah, I use Tombo on the bottom cubes as you can see very little with the angle.

I decided to pick up the white Glassviks to go with my black Bestas. I think they look pretty good. No more doorless Bestas. Too bad about the Tombos but in a way the Glassviks hides the shelves with the borders.

And those are 2" borders.

I picked up my Tombo's for $50 each 2 weeks ago. Maybe I should return them...

For any of you guys that stacked the 23" besta, (the small one), on top of another one, what did you use to secure them together? I have some I want to stack but want to avoid drilling into the top of them if I move around the displays.

Double sided tape? Plates & panel and screw them together (with short screws) from behind? Secure each to the wall behind but not to each other?

My only Best, a height extension unit, has optional feet on the bottom. Where the metal screw thread insert are for the feet there's also a small hole inside the cabinet. If either of yours also have this feature, you could put a screw through this hole from the top one into the bottom one. That would only leave a mark on the top surface of the bottom unit, something easily hidden in the future.

Yeah, the Tumbler. This was my original idea before I found out about PAX, but they don't have clear glass doors and it might be more costly to custom make those than to "extend" the BESTA to create more depth and then add a TOMBO in front. If free standing works, that's a good possibility if they can't be secured, plus it would probably make moving easier if I were to relocate the shelf. I wanted to keep my collection all together against the wall. The 2nd deeper BESTA spot would be for the 1/12 Bat when/if that gets released.

Free standing isn't the best idea because the back panel of the Besta is structural. It should be easy to fasten them together on the bottom and the underside of the tops however using either some thin metal flats or thin MDF/masonite and screws. That would prevent any possibility of them coming apart as well as any lateral shift/skew of the front backless cabinet.
