that is not a Besta, it is a Stuva Which you also gets in ikea... which are 10cm deeper and thereby also fits Optimus prime maquette or you can Display a Hulk Maquette from the Front

Yes, other board members talked some sense into me. Still curious about the Hulk's height though. Specs on SS site says 647.7mm and when you lower the shelf one notch you get about 630mm in height?

Hey Collectorcol do you have any before and after pics of your switch from Vassbo to Glassvik doors?

Planning an Ikea trip in a couple of months (out of state since we don't have one here) and not sure what to get. Can you give me the exact bezel measurement on the Glassvik doors to compare to my Vassbo? Thanks!

edit: NVM. I see you posted them a couple pages back. I thought it was just the different lighting between the two but now I see the reflective edge on the vassbos in the first pic. Found the measurements too.

I'm thinking the Glassvisk are worth it for the extra 2" of viewing window. Not to figure out exactly what I need.

so I just lower the shelf one notch more... then you get about 65,5cm in height

I wish (as I'm sure most do) those Stuvas came in black like the Bestas. I'm planning on putting oversized statues on top of the Bestas, but the base on Ares is way deeper than the 15".

Thanks for the photo Irezumi. I'm definitely going with those. Only problem is the IKEA I'm going to is out of stock right now. Hopefully that changes by the time I go.

Hey Hexic The Vassbo is 3" and the Glassvik has a 2" border.
Doesn't seem like much difference but the Glassvik makes for a much better display door imo.

Really nice! What did you use for your Iron Man? I don't know what would be the best thing to display my 1/4 Alien maquettes. Does anyone have any pics? I don't think they'll fit into the besta height wise. Especially Big Chap.

I used those shorter extensions to prop up my 3x1 shelves. They are pretty sturdy, I mean I could stand on them and I'm over 175 lbs. 15" height might not be large enough for a premium format statue, if that's what you mean. Those are 1/4 scale and are pretty big. You could put 1/6 figures in it though. You can go a few pages back to check out my display-in-progress.

I meant the top of the shelf! The inside will be for whatever but the top. I just wanted to get an idea of scale and how high it is since I have limited room..

I asked in the dioder alternative thread but has anyone ever used a string of tape lights instead of the strip? You can get tape lights from china real cheap and they arent too hard to wire.Curious about the look.

Ah ok, cool. And your doors on the Bestas? I tried to see if the plain glass ones for Billy's would fit but they don't, so looks like I'm gonna have to go one of the Besta doors. They don't have a full glass one :-/

Billy are a different range and size so they won't fit.

The Besta Tombo doors were the full glass option but have been discontinued.
Look for Vassbo or Glassvik.

Do the glassvik doors have any flexibility as far as where the hinge is located or are they in fixed positions like on the vassbos?

I'd love if I could drop the top shelf down one more notch but I'd have to go down three because the hinge is in the way, and then the shelf would be visible through the glass.
