I mean, Not even Lord of the Rings can stand to Star Wars.
Nothing can.
Ever.
Nothing can measure to Star Wars.

But Nolan Batman is important. it revolutionized the super hero movie industry. It might not measure to Star Wars that is true but it is one of the best superhero trilogies ever created (so far)

I love.

Random.
Hyperbole posts.

It's important in retrospect. But so is Spider-Man, yet you **** on it all the time. So what the hell does that say?

I don't hate spiderman but I don't worship it either. that's the difference I don't worship Dark Knight either, I hate Rises I don't care about watching it again but I love Begins and Dark Knight.

I like Spiderman 1 and 2 but I thought the reboot was better origin story. I know you are going to say BS but that's just how I felt personally. I liked it better.

what I was saying about Spiderman is that will be just as dated as this batman will be. but they are both still good in their own ways.

I didn't even say dated. I just said the themes won't hold up. And they won't.

They might work on a different level. But the films are so grounded in 2008 and 2009 that they could never not be dated.

Spider-Man never dated it. It's set in modern times, but it didn't go full on "WE LIVE IN 2002.".

I guess I see what you are saying. I mean, You didn't even read my posts but I agreed that Star Wars was better than this Batman. I did agree with you on that.

There's no Nolan's "Batman trilogy" since Rises is some kind of silly joke.

Ewoks may be seen out of place in EpVI but in fact their presence doesn't spoil the plot.

I am old enough to have seen SW in the theaters...but as of today..I do enjoy the Nolan films more.

However...as far as standing the test of time....as much as I do love the Batman films...I just don't see them having the same following in 20+ years as SW does.

Something the Nolancompoops have a hard time seeing. I'd argue it'll feel more dated 20 years from now, than hearing Prince in the parade in Burton's films today.

Nothing about Nolan's films is even remotely as epic as De Niro vs. Pacino. HUGE fail on your part. :lol

There's a lot more to Heat than that one sit down conversation between Deniro and Pacino. And pretty much all of it was made using the same filmmaking conventions applied by Nolan. Real stunts, no contemporary music, on location photography, etc. Nothing about the Dark Knight films screams "2008!" or "2012!" other than the ages of the cast.

You watched Nolan's films, right? Their heavy reliance on technology alone will date them, unless we get some kinda Revolution-style blackout, in which case I'll concede that it won't look as dated, but only because we won't be able to view it. :lol

What keeps heat from being dated is the same as what keeps the Godfather from being dated. It's the caliber of the actors and their performances. Nothing in Nolan's trilogy compares to that. Doesn't even come close. Best Batman film to date, I'll give to Begins, but outside of the superhero category, Nolan's Batman films are farts in the wind.

It goes like this,

LotR > Batman > Star Wars

You accidentally used greater than symbols instead of lesser than symbols. It should read:

LotR < Batman ≤ Star Wars

Yup, that's a less than or equal to sign. I selected both and voted for them. Is cheating, I know, but the option was there so I had to take it!

I've already addressed the faulty logic of Pacino and Deniro instantly making any film they appear in as being immune to antiquity so I won't retread my previous post.

Your presumption that the Nolan films will be more dated 20 years later than Batman 89 was in 2009 has already failed. I remember in *1992* watching Batman Returns and rejoicing that it didn't feature any god-awful 80's Prince music. Again, that was in 1992. A scant 3 years after the original Batman. BB and TDK are both 7 and 4 years old respectively. And they still aren't dated. Your theory collapsed right out of the gate. :duh

It didn't collapse, you're removing logic and trying to fill the gaping hole left behind with fanboy splooge. The actors performances are what make Heat "timeless." Otherwise, it would be just as dated as any other random heist flick from earlier eras (Baldwin's The Getaway remake is a "forgettable" example), but yet, it's the performance of the actors that surpass the era the film is set within that elevate it. There's nothing even remotely comparable in Nolan's films.
