Why would I belabor a point to someone who keeps repeating the same failed argument? Batman 89's "timelessness" didn't last 3 years, the Nolan films have already remained contemporary for more than that. The end.

I didn't have to reference Heat, I could have compared TDK to Se7en or any number of past films that currently don't hit the audience over the head with cultural landmarks or filmmaking techniques of that specific time.

This new point you're arguing is entirely subjective and diversionary. You stated an example of Nolan's Batman remaining timeless as Heat. Your comparison is a failed one because it's not the way it was shot, nor the props, vehicles, wardrobe, weaponry or anything superficial that make Heat timeless, as they in fact date it, it's the performance of the actors within the film. There's not a single performance in Nolan's franchise that even holds a candle to that of De Niro and Pacino's in Heat. And no matter how much of that superficiality Nolan stole from Heat, he doesn't have a performance of that caliber to make the film stand the test of time, not even Ledger's. And before you use the Oscar as an argument, it was a sympathy Oscar, awarded by the Academy for snubbing Ledger on previous films (like Denzel was given for Training Day).

Whether SW or Batman provided the more enjoyable viewing experience is obviously entirely subjective. I loved both of them, despite Batman growing progressively more crap the longer it went on, while SW managed to hold out until the stupid Ewoks showed up.

On any reasonable measure, the call becomes less subjective. In terms of the dialogue. In terms of the characters, their development and their motivations. In terms of the way story arcs were managed. In terms of the way visual effects were used to sustain the narrative. In terms of the themes explored and universality of the storytelling.

The argument that SW is the superior trilogy is far more convincing when framed in all of these terms. Calling this argument subjective and a matter of opinion is like saying that Godfather being a better film than D1ck Tracy is you know, just like, your opinion, man.

That is your opinion only, and does not render this statement hard fact.

I think SW is silly bull****, but that is my opinion only, its hardly some universal truth.

I just said that because Batman doesn't have the armies of nerds getting married to SW themed ceremonies or conventions or even their own ride at Disney.

Batman will be cherished but not the the amount that SW is. I don't think anything is. Not even Potter or LOTR or Twilight. all those have scary fanatics but not to the level of SW.

Cant believe this is even an arguement. Clearly Star wars is the better trilogy.

Never put twilight on the level Of Lotr or Harry potter. Twilight is a stupid trend while HP and Lotr are classics that will be remebered for there inspiring stories and great characters. I would also say That Lotr is the same level as SW. WOW,those weird wizard battles that nerds do and skyrim are no doubt inspired by lotr.

If you like horrid prequels who spit on the entire universe, lore and turns an icon into a emo ***** than yeah.

I dont like the prequals either except for the third but the Bats trilogy doesnt have the same weight to it like the OT SW trilogy.

A Batman-themed wedding sounds awesome. I cant decide if the bridesmaids should all be wearing the Robin outfit, or should they be divided into various heroic/villainous supporting roles.... the groomsmen could all be wearing Joker's henchmen outfits. Why has nobody already done this?!!

Actually as I recall, there's already at least one batman-themed rolloercoaster somewheres, and possibly more.

EDIT: Oh wait
