They didnt have cgi in 1977, id also argue it took way more expertise to create and film those practical effects. New hope is a monumental achievement in filmmaking, it is the catalyst that led to modern day cinema, without out it you wouldnt have your twirly sabers and cool flips

Yes I know.... I was joking my son

Is that real? I mean, I have no doubt those comments would line up with his real thoughts but I'm still surprised he'd say those things now - considering his return to Star Wars will inevitably have George's attention.

Ewan's always been vocal about being frustrated by the CGI/bluescreen work. I think it speaks a lot to his passion for the character that he wants back.

The money doesn't hurt either I'm sure.

But certainly he's looking forward to being an actor rather than set dressing for a change.

They left out the quote where Ewan said the writing and directing was trash. "****ing Jar Jar."

Nobody thinks they are masterpieces. Just better than the ST. Everyone knows they are bad

I’m tired of hiding. If ZSJL is praised as masterpiece and best hero film then the PT are works of art. ROTS is the best Star Wars movie ever!

Take out the Duel of the Fates and the Anakin/Obi-Wan fight and you have a pile of garbage. No, this was a pile of garbage, so you have a pile of decomposed garbage. I was just desperate for more Star Wars, anyway I could get it. But I knew deep in my soul that I was being fed below average movies. I remember talking with friends after these movies, trying to convince ourselves that it was good and eventful. Glad I am rid myself of all PT stuff and the ST, well there is nothing to talk about there. :rotfl

Lol I guess since I was a kid when the PT came out and so much Star Wars media was everywhere I liked some of them. I liked bit and pieces of the first two but I absolutely love rots .

It just felt like with the clone wars cartoon and video games and now they movie it was all a complete story and the other two movies didn?t really need to be made.

Yes they were bad but idk there is something about them people love. Especially rots. The ST however failed to capture young and old cause it was so lifeless. Say what you want about the PT but the music, designs and lore behind it was amazing

I think everyone likes the army of clones, action and cool ship designs like the gunships, jedi starfighter ep3 and a lot of Jedi. All are trapped in the terribly written story.

Well, tho, as pointed out by others - I appreciate the PT a lot more after the ST. Whatever issues there are - including a whiny young "sand is so coarse" Anakin - there was a lot imagination, and cohesive arcs.

You get why Anakin did what he did; the failure to understand the prophecy; I like that essentially the Jedi failed; but there is a thin hope left.

Even small stuff like Anakin's mother telling him to not look back.

So there's a lot of corny stuff; but - I rewatch, now and then.
