Y'all really don't like POC being cast in main roles, do you? I swear any time a movie/show has a black or asian person in it then it immediately gets **** on here for being "woke". Aliens are cool and believable but your immersion is suddenly shattered at the sight of a black person. You must have **** your pants when you first watched Empire Strikes Back.
That's the key word. Every time there's a race/genger change, what do you see? All I see are African-Americans. That's it. Not even native Africans, just African-Americans. I never see any Koreans, Indians, Cambodians, whatever else. So yeah, I'm "peeved". Because of the hypocrisy. Just say you're trying to reach the African-American community specifically, because they're a large consumer demographic in your base of operations so to speak, and stop pretending that you're on some holy crusade to make little Rajesh feel represented. It's a very American Western thing where the "enlightened few" believe that there's some "POC Solidarity", and that the blonde Hemsworth pisses off the guy from Brazil, while the moment he'll lay eyes upon some black actor instead of a white one, the darker skin will instantly bring him closer to the character. It's out of touch American whites and their liberal white guilt taking over, nothing more than that.

I know, I know, "I'm in the past". "Who cares". I'm being "hypocritical" because almost a century ago Obi-Wan wore brown paint to play a Caucasian Arab man, so it's okay for Achilles to look like he came from Kenya... All I know is Shang-Chi gets his specifically Chinese ethnostate, Black Panther gets his self-inserting ethnostate, meanwhile everything related to any sort of European history or myth, has to look like modern day L.A. I'm sorry, but this is too much hypocrisy for me. So when I see some nonsense in the casting, I'll shoot the **** and make some bants. I'm not even mad at this random woman playing a random mook. It's just evident that she has no helmet or specific markings strictly so that they can say how much of a brave and stunning black woman she is. All the others are aliens, the one human Inquisitor from Fallen Order wore a helmet, but I guess she was Indian so she didn't count to Disney. Every other actor's under heavy makeup, meanwhile she's just a random woman. I wonder why... It's the marketing and hypocrisy that pisses people off, not the choice itself.

Before the twittertards even knew what capes were, I was reading Black Panther alongside Iron Man, the FF, Batman and whatever else. He was in my Top 5, regardless of the fact that he was the blackest power fantasy in comics, specifically because he was cool aesthetically and appealed to me thematically, regardless of how far removed I was from the specific customer they were trying to appeal to. Now they've stripped the character of all nuance, sold him to the masses, and they're suddenly the fans while I'm a "problematic element". So whatever jabs I can take at them, even at a dolly forum where I'll just ramble to 20 other people, half of whom will put me on ignore, I will. Because **** those twittertards and **** Disney.

If the actors/actresses do a good job then who gives a ****. We've seen 3 pictures of her. Whilst studios do love to check the diversity box it's also possible that the casting division know what they are doing and just pick the best person for the role. It's not like this is a previously white character being race swapped, it's a minor character that's been mentioned like once in an encyclopedia.

I'll watch it. It's okay. Maybe. Whatever. I hope it has some PT flashbacks so that I can get some reissues of ROTS Anakin/Obi-Wan or something.

Needless to say, I won't be buying that... Seriously, what the ****?! This is the best a billion dollar corporation can come up with? Christ... I feel embarassed to continue buying merch that supports these things. I really do. Damn my completionism and inabillity to detach myself from harmful habits....

Not a fan of the Inquisitor design choices, no -- but I think it's a coin toss as to whether this is any good. But definitely not re-subscribing unless everyone whose taste resonates with mine says it's worth it. I'm in for all spoilers and dissections before I'll consider it.

Boom, right there. Should copy and paste this quote into the SW Disney+ figure thread. Some don't like their Star Wars criticized. :lol

I have no expectations. I just hope this series fully focuses on Obi-Wan and doesn't have him missing for 2 episodes. :lol
:lol Think Obi-Wan is popular enough u could just have him breathing spice and chatting with Qui-Gon, and that's the series.:monkey3

Well, I like the idea that it opens the door in live action for other remnant Jedi - an idea I find intriguing. Not a lot of them, but a few scattered here and there. Or others who might have been Jedi, but fled; which I guess is what Grogu is. Why have a whole team of Inquisitors just for Obi-Wan.

Watched the trailer again. Yeah Duel of the Fates always gets the pulse going but otherwise nothing particularly exciting. Really disappointed in the look of the Inquisitors. Looks like another Star Wars D+ show going to save me money collecting wise because I'm not going to be getting any figures of them.
Yes, I'm curious to see what folk make of this one. And I too will be reading all the spoilers in the Kenobi thread.
To be fair, even if everyone loves the show, it's hard to justify subscribing to D+ for just one show. I'm more likely to wait for Mando season 3, that way I can watch Kenobi (if its any good) Bad Batch season 2 and Mando season 3 all in 1 month of D+ subscription.

Definitely has some interesting potential there. I'm guessing Grogu has been born at this point?

*Sigh*George Lucas himself has a LOOONG history of promoting and casting POC in his films, in big roles. He donates to and champions diversity hiring agendas, has made films focusing on black actors, and has loudly stated that minorities and women need more prominent roles. Heroes like Leia and Lando were groundbreaking for their time and broke social norms. It was Lucas who made one of the few Master Jedi’s a black man. It was Lucas who had Lando blow up the Death Star in ROTJ. It was Lucas who cast a Māori actor as Jango Fett and tied that ethnicity to all the clones and Boba Fett. The man’s wife is African-American.

Of all the things I have issues with regarding Disney and Star Wars, casting POC is not one of them. Their problem is giving them bad material. I still love the idea behind Finn, and his actor deserved better. Kelly Marie Tran deserved better. So many deserve BETTER.

But hiring talented minorities to be in this universe isn’t being “woke”. That’s just being decent. And Star Wars has been doing it longer than most people on here have been alive.

What I ordered vs what I got

Man that's just awful.... :slap The 5th Brother from the walking scene looks just as bad. :nono

The problem is to make all these alien characters look accurate would require $$$.. A far larger budget than the show is given. They would all need to be done with CGI overlays onto the heads. They already ruined the Pikes in Buba Fatt. Not too many really complained. So Disney is good to go. :yess:

This is a TV show. Not a blockbuster movie. So, we get what we get.....

What Disney doesn't get, is it destroys the merchandising. They take cool looking desirable characters who people who want to add to their collection, and instead make them look awful. They actually lose even more money in the long run.

What are Inquisitors? I thought it was just Vader and Palpatine?

Someone enlighten a guy that hasn’t watched the cartoons or played the video gamrs

Lucas got cucked by his first wife during Return of the Jedi and didn’t father any children of his own.

Lando betrayed the heroes in his first movie and couldn’t have blown up the Death Star without Wedge.

Most of the Jedi Masters are literal people of color, not just Mace. Shak-Ti (red), Ayla Secura (blue), Luminara Unduli (yellow) Kit Fisto (green) Plo Koon (orange). They’re like monk Power Rangers.

Ok here goes….

I’m being serious.

First things first.

It finally revealed itself why Disney held back on the traditional JW Star Wars music all this time not even used with Luke’s reveal remember that complaint.

They held it for this and it was an excellent idea which payed off with HUGE glorious goosebump impact!

Kudos to Disney great job!

Now for the non music part of the trailer.

Riddle me this…

Do you know what’s worse than dumb Inquisitors?

Dumb cosplay Inquisitors that’s what!

Take it away fail gif!
