Big Boss vs. Solid Snake

For sure. The descriptions about grinding down the bottom of the trigger guard to get a high grip is something that a trained individual would do, not really something your average tech advisor would consider.

The way the 1911 is setup is pretty much how a high-level pistol competition shooter would do it. Very impressive for a video game, and one of the things that really sets MGS apart from similar games.

I thought the same thing.

It's amazing that even 100 years since it's incarnation the main components haven't changed all that much, same could be said for the AK.

Yeah, it really is. Not something I'd recommend for a beginner to handguns, but for someone who is willing to do their homework and maintain it properly, it's a fine weapon. I'm a big fan of the Browning High Power, another old pistol that, with certain necessary modifications, holds it own today.

I'm surprised how much of a margin Snake has on Big Boss. Were all good MGS fans here, I guess the result is based on honesty and not petty reasons like Gamefaqs. :peace

Yeah I'm surprised too. Big boss is such a badass but it's snake all the way for me! In MGS2 especially.

I need to replay MGS 2 one of these days. Lots of incredible scenes in that game, and Snake was at the prime of his experience - even though we hardly had a chance to play as him :(

His epicness was too much for the game to handle so Kojima had to keep him out of the spot light :wink1:

I'm a bit surprised, too. I'm just glad how the thread turned out as civil as it did, without anyone blowing their casket :lol.

I blame the couple of middle-school Japanese girls, who changed Kojima's mind on using Snake. They told him something along the lines of hating "gross old men", and that gave Kojima the idea to introduce Raiden :lol.

That didn't seem to work well. It's kind of funny, that practically all of the women I've talked to at the MGS signings have a preference for either Solid Snake or Big Boss. I've yet to meet, or see one chick who's a hardcore Raiden fan (aside from that one Cosplayer who shows up on the net from time-to-time).

Nope.

This is Big Boss:
