You would pay $300 for something you are not interested in? :horror Here, I have this half-eaten pork pie. What will you give me for that?

Well, I am only interested if it comes complete with genuine saliva, tooth/bite marks, hand used plastic knife and fork, a pickled onion and soiled napkin.

Otherwise, you can look elsewhere buddy! :pfft:

Another reason why I feel these should be round the 300 mark is that the show has a considerable viewership other than within the UK. So, while the higher side may not pinch them so much, but for us Intl customers it's dealing with shipping and duties which is a major dent.

$300 would be ideal and would leave enough room for us to deal with the nuances.

DOnt get me wrong, ive seen the Dr. who figs, but the quality doesnt warrant $260+ per fig. The sculpt and clothes look good, but not up to EB or HT quality.

I have both Big Chief and Hot Toys figures, and I think they are of comparable quality, especially given that BC are the new boys in town, and will probably acquire licences that HT and EB won't be interested in, besides there's nothing like a bit of health competition to keep everyone on their toes, which as got to be good for all of us.

Considering the "repairs" I had to make to my MiB figures' suits, I would suggest BCS tailoring is better than EB and the sculpt and paint job are very close. The HT advantage is in the eyes which are separate pieces as opposed to straightforward paint.

I would agree that BC isn't up to HT quality, but HT doesn't produce Doctor Who or Sherlock figures do they?

Hey, I heard folks here were buying half eaten meals for big bucks. I've got the remains of a fish supper here, now only $400 - with FREE shipping!

Thats good to hear at least..might still be interested..

This. I also don't think they are quite to the standard of HT (and I am not going to bang on about the paintwork again. Whoops. Just did), but they are good enough to buy. I would be happier if they weren't HT prices, but we aren't going to get these anywhere else, so it is time to shut up and cough up. But Trevor's sculpts for these two look HT quality to me.

And anyone want half a crumpet, with jam? I am prepared to trade for an HT Hellboy, MIB.

If you suggest that the BCS sculpt and paint job is anything close to EB, It would be IMO a very wrong suggestion. The sculpt is first of all very soft, and the paint is NOWHERE close to EB whose paint and sculpt likeness has since the last year been consistently better than even HT...

My only want is that Trevor's sculpt gets the mass production and paintjob it deserves... would hate to see it become less textured soft sculpt like the 11th Dr.

I totally agree that it would be a sin for Trevor's sterling work to be lost under poor casting and paintwork (there. Said it again). I did a close up comparison between 11 and an HT fig a while back. For me, there just is no comparison. I am hoping that things improve for the Sherlock figs.

Damn it Cappy, you know I'm a completist!! Is it the 'Choke On My Bone' Limited Special Edition with drool puddle?

Mint In Newspaper, my man!

As for saying the 11 paintjob is Sideshow quality I really wouldn't agree - Mau's picture shows that they're not quite HT quality yet, but they're certainly better than SSC.

They kind of remind me of the sideshow toys a few years ago. The Price though.. its too early to tell. Unfortunately, seeing Trevors excellent sculpts painted so so is not new, lol

I have to agree. I really hope their quality has improved since that Doctor. Their pricing is on the higher end of HT pricing, but their quality is definitely not quite there yet.

I may have to rethink getting Sherlock. :(

I'm sure they'll always be improving. I don't understand the point of comparing to HT though. I guess to say you think the price is too much? In the end, though, they cost what they cost to make and BCS set their prices however they need to in order to make it worthwhile for them as a company. If that doesn't work for the customer, then they can simply not buy it. No other company is making these figures nor has any other company expressed interest.

As a fan of Doctor Who figures, I love the figure we've gotten and hope for the best for future figures. The price is more than I'd have liked, but I'm not sorry I bought them because I love the characters. I've seen so many blah 12'' figures from blah companies. I'm glad we are getting figures from this one for Doctor Who and Sherlock. The alternative might have been nothing from no one, as it had been for years.

Just an honest look at what you get for the price. The base non-DX HT is around $190+ The base DX around $250+. Im not slamming the fig as I have various figs that are not HT quality but still look good, just curious as to what would justify such a price? Would a BBC licence cost more than a DC or Marvel??
