"Barbara Broccoli said that there would never be another Bond figure EVER because she thought it enforced the ideas of violence or something?"

...and yet they did MR Mego figures back in '79 as well as other Bond items for kids , Corgi for instance....her comment makes no sense.

Who bought the majority of the jigsaws back in the 60s.....bet most were kids so Bond has been targeted to kids for 50+ yrs.

Connery : I think you all should stop playing with dollsch , that's what I think.....ya bunch of tinkerbells ! (ps : I had *** with your mother again , Trebek......haw haw haw !)

the crap bodies with loose out of box joints is wht stopped me buyin BCS. just got silly. felt like rag dolls all jittery in hand, did not like that considering the price paid. love for doc who or in this case bond cant help that sour feel at all.

that has been my customer experience so far. if yours differs more power to ya, enjoy.

Their price can’t match the quality they expect people to pay for it, that’s their issue. Three zero is a crap company but at least they are priced like a crap company.

Big chief has one up on them. I’ll never deny that . But they can’t charge what they charge and deliver what they do.

-production paint jobs not prototype...but get this fixed. And check your QC can’t have any nose rubs or anything else like that and get better at eyes and ofher subtitles
- bodies -design a new one... again, sorry it’s gotta be done guys I know you spent money on that but you were way the hell off.. it’s literally ruining your figures
- suits, not specifically tailoring in general, it’s better... but the suits.. look at the anatomy of a real suit and follow suit (pun intended) shoulder pads will do wonders by the way

If they can figure this out.. they have a strong hope.

I take your point about BCS not being able to match HT quality. HT are the Ferrari of Action figs, BCS are the Fiat, having said that, HT are more entitled to charge Ferrari prices, unfortunately BCS the Fiat of Action Figs are also charging Ferrari prices.

For example the new HT Neo will cost me £155 over at KG Hobby, Moore Bond will cost me £210. So in fact the Fiat of Action figures are charging Bugatti Veyron money.

Maybe HT can keep their costs down more then BCS but at the end of the day your getting charged a lot more money for an inferior product when you compare it to the other market leaders in the field.

The thing is, BCS have to make money in order to progress, and, at the moment, all they can do is charge what they do for the figures. Costs have to be met.

If we give them chance to grow instead of torpedoing them at the slightest mis-step, they might feel more like sticking around. If all they get is a boatload of hate, they'll quit and Babs will call it a fail and pull the plug again. The people that want the figures can have them and those that don't can leave them to it.

I'd like to get one of those, I hope, I hope, I hope! Eaglemoss is selling a fully assembled one for around US$2,000 I think! From almost 2 decades ago, my mahogany DB5 cost me $600, but I would have opted for the Eaglemoss version had I known it was going to be made even though it's not the same scale as my Bond figures.

It would certainly go with this Pierce Brosnan vinyl statue in 1/9th scale by Dragon Models, which I happen to have:

I built the model kit of that baby Brosnan, that takes me back. It was really nice and I wish they'd done more in that line.

From what I understand from talking to a friend in the "biz," Hot Toys has a LOT of clout, and they're not afraid to use their name and money to get what they want. Reminds me a bit of Microsoft, or Apple, or the U.S. Gov't. So that's gotta have a factor here. Big Chief is a much smaller company who don't have a big presence in China. They don't have a name that could make or break you. So they don't get the same level of respect. And they may not be able to negotiate as well with the manufacturers. People in the industry aren't going to break their backs for them. Yet, maybe, or maybe never without a bigger Asian presence.

I said it before, but I think the problem with Big Chief's price point is that the money IS there...it's just not allocated correctly. No one cares much about their stands. Or their fancy packaging (which still causes nose rubs, making it not fulfill it's basic functionality). The body is nice and tight, with no breakage that I've heard of, but it's not designed well. The clothes are tailored well to fit that body, which isn't the clothes' fault. They have increased paint ops on things like fingernails while skimping on the buttons on the suit.

I am still of the belief that there's a lot of good here, more so than bad, and I'm enjoying Connery more and more. I have no problem with constructive criticism - I did that above - but a lot of it in this thread is just bashing for the sake of bashing. Some say Big Chief should never have gotten the license. Are people forgetting that everyone else gave up on the license because of how hard EON was being? If I recall, Barbara Broccoli said that there would never be another Bond figure EVER because she thought it enforced the ideas of violence or something? Big Chief pushed for that license and put in a lot of hard work to get something to us that we thought was impossible. Are they the best 1/6 manufacturer out there right now? Nah. But they definitely are trying to put out a quality product, and I respect that.

Does that mean we should be happy and not complain? Of course not. But bashing doesn't help anything...

Well said!

Lets just imagine a perfect world where HT got the Bond Licence instead :), I know a lot of hearts sank on the Freaks when BCS got the licence :(
A least we would get top notch tailoring and a body that doesn't need elastic bands round it to stand up.

I might be wrong on that. I remember reading it at some point when they cancelled all the upcoming figure tie-ins for Casino Royale. That's when the decision was made. I remember not only was Sideshow readying a Craig figure, but an entire line was being made in the 7" scale which was canned.

Corgi had a 6/7 inch Quantum line (with some classic characters mixed in) that she canned.

They canned the Casino Craig figure but the word was it was Craig himself who was being difficult about it.

Around that time was when Babs and co threw in the towel. Something about sideshow turned them off so much they pulled a "rather slit my wrists" and made promises without never saying never again...

If HT got the license, we'd get one or two Bonds and maybe a villain or two before they abandoned the line. :lol And people would still find something to ***** about with the figures.

This is true. If HT had this line we'd have maybe got a great Connery figure but Goldfinger and Oddjob would enjoy the same status as the Pfeiffer Catwoman...two years later still waiting.

They might eventually release Moore and Craig Bond's but I'm doubtful we'd get any villains or the less popular Bond actors. Even with their Marvel and DC lines they rarely bother with villains outside of the Joker.

Ok I will admit HT dont always get their priorities right.

If HT had gotten the license there's no way they would have put their best sculptors on it, so all the sculpts would had the same slightly generic look that their Neo or Doc Brown has.

Yeah I think the BCS sculpts are pretty good, just imagine how good they could look with HT paint apps & HT eyes. HT just needed to get Inigo on board.
I am planning on going down the route of getting a BCS head then bashing the rest of the fig. That way it will have a good body, clothing etc.

Great way to support an up and coming business. Go back and look at HT initial efforts.

yeah but their (HT) figures 10 years ago, while dated now, are at a comparable and in some cases better effort than what we are getting from Big Chief in this present day.

HT "clout" or not... I don't see how these knock off or unlicensed companies can get better results off of their product from what is got to be one of the same 5 factories. Thats the issue at hand for me.

In your opinion.

I know this answer, I know this answer: Asians do better job for Asians than they will for American companies.

Also not paying license fees, not paying RandD because most of the stuff is copied or stolen. But if it’s anything like that toycity tuxedo Ray shown the other day, which he claimed looked high end? If we shown that we would be ripped apart, big collar I’ll fitted arms on the figure etc. Not knocking thier work just things I’ve noticed that has been mentioned about our previous work, but that looked high end?
