I listened to it but the news was out well before his speech and it was all reported the same. They were saying he was killed last week in a bomb attack in Pakistan and they have been awaiting the results of a DNA test to confirm it. The whole firefight thing didn't start getting reported until after the speech. Not straight enough for me.

That's just news organizations trying to scoop a story before they have all the facts. Obama said this was all based on intelligence from last summer, so it's possible the newsies found out about one of the operations related to that bit of intelligence and just speculated the rest.

I'm sure they're not going to issue retractions, so you may be stuck wondering "what really happened" for a very long time.

I am glad that it was some SOF or CIA boys that actually went in and did the deed.

I am all about using drones in order to keep our boys out of harms way. But, this one need a personal touch.

I hope that he got to see an American face, set with determination and vengeance, right before his ticket got punched.

While I'm not going to dance in the streets I am very happy that the person in charge of killing so many people worldwide has finaly been brought to justice. I am very happy it was an American team that did it and did it face to face and not a bomb. I don't think for one second the war on terror is over but this is a HUGE victory.
