Although it was financially successful, I'm pretty sure I read it didn't do as well as was expected.

There's a really great article at Polygon that goes into what happened at Irrational. I think it was one of those situations where it was a great seller, but for how long it took to make, it was almost impossible for it to be hugely profitable.

Not quite done yet, just had that face to face with Atlas. So far the gameplay is the least exciting of any Bioshock, I'm not used to sneaking around. The story is just as great as ever though, and brutal. The contrast between Elizabeth's opening fantasy to her reality is heartbreaking. And I'm really enjoying Rapture. Andrew Ryan's first confrontation in Suchong's old lab was just as tense and imposing as the first time he pops up on that monitor in the original. I'm going to miss this storytelling for sure. It does feel like it's doing a great job of bringing it full circle. I can tell I'm going to want to replay Bioshock 1 the second this is over which is pretty cool.

Finished.

Interesting. Doesn't have anywhere near the same impact of Infinite but few games will. I did like it for what it is, just a contained DLC that at the same time does much more.

The way I see it if I'm not mistaken?

Infinite played out several times until the Lutece twins finally are able to make Booker remember properly and make them realize they need to kill themselves to effectively stop any Comstocks. The end of Infinite is the first time this succeeds. However one reality escapes destruction but is not a happy ending with Booker. It's a Comstock that gets by and goes to Rapture to hide. Somehow that Elizabeth remembers and knows she must go after him and kill him and than herself just like the end of Infinite. So this Liz was always going to be dead anyway which softens the blow of the ending a bit. Instead of suicide she is able to set all of B1 into motion by giving Frank the code word. Frank will use it to use Jack but ultimately Jack is stronger than she is and she can see that he will defeat Frank and rescue Sally so she ultimately manages to rescue all of the Little Sisters instead of just blow her brains out right? Kinda like a super dark Back to the Future/Looper/Inception.

The trans-orbital lobotomy was a crazy scene. Loved the music and the feeling of complete helplessness. Just kept thinking, Frank gets his soon enough. Watching Suchong get drilled was a nice touch too. A little justice before the inevitable.

I like that they tried to recapture the survival horror element in the game play with no shield and a weaker character but they didn't provide enough options for the combat imo.

An extremely dedicated fellow made a LEGO replica of the Bank of the Prophet and included just about every character. . . BEHOLD!!!

Awesome, any chance that's been uploaded to Lego Ideas? Then again, it almost certainly wouldn't pass review.

Also, the Irrational Store currently has 200 Songbird Statues up to buy for a real low price. The ones from the CE.

Always wanted to play this game. I played the original Bioshock demo and it was fantastic with the dripping atmosphere and art deco style.

There has been some fantastic cosplay of Elizabeth but this one is up there with the best of them. She's been doing this for a while it seems but this is the first I've seen of it. Really well done! :rock

I got my Booker figure from BBTS today. It's. . . okay.

I really only collect sixth scale, so smaller scale plastic figures, I'm just not okay with the simplistic paint apps on the heads. They straight up painted his nostrils black, I don't understand why they do that, it should be a darker shade of skintone, people's nostrils aren't really black. I notice the figure looks a lot more realistic than the actual character model, which has freakishly huge hands, and weird bugged out eyes, so they kind of idealized him up, which I'm fine with. But through production it looks like his face went from a stern snarl, to a blank stare. . . but oh, well.

Overall though, it met my expectations, I wasn't expecting a lot. I'd like to pick up the Ben Franklin Patriot as well, just to keep supporting the license, even though it's likely done. I appreciate that NECA released him and "completed' the license, even if it only needed Booker and Elizabeth. I was worried that Booker would meet the same fate as the Prometheus and Borderlands series, so I have to thank NECA for pulling this one through.

My collection is still 'in package' as they don't really display well with my sixth scale stuff, haha. . . here's a snap.

They had a prototype of a handy man figure that they never completed; makes me cry just thinking about it.

Did they ever show it? I only see a tweet from last year that it might be at SDCC 13. . . I guess it wasn't, haha :(

I remember seeing a pile of parts in one photo that looked like parts for a Lincoln Patriot. I would've rather had than than the Franklin one.

There was picture from one of their back stage tours i think; it looks like the figure was mostly completed save the arms, head and coat which oculd have been soft goods. So much potential, but alas.
