That is totally some the best and most fun looking gameplay I've ever seen for a game. Everything about the game screams "quality." From the art design, gameplay, voice acting, story, and sound. Oh man, this game is going to put your sound system to the test. The sound is just amazing in that trailer.

:goodpost: this has game of the year 2012 written all over it.

Elizabeth looks to be the most likable NPC partner ever, everything about her like the naivety of the gold, the kooky humour of Lincoln spells what a shut-in could develop in real life.

The guns look amazing, i literally hate and love the devs right now, i hate them for showing this much awesomeness, but keeping us waiting til next year, but love everything about the game.

My only little complaint is the amount of running through the open while being shot, running right up less then a foot from an enemey while he unloads a machine gun in your face and you slowly take the time to reload shells and ____ your rifle. Yuck, where was the melee feature?

One more thing, not a complaint but funny, no one really knows where Columbia is, it floats around in the clouds, but given what we've seen, some poor farmer somwhere must be constantly dodging falling buildings, raining metal horses, and burning zepplins crashing to the ground. :lol

What, he doesn't have a wrench? :lol

(haven't actually watched the 15 minute vid, want to stay locked down until release)

I think it was done with Invincibility turned on, you watch his health go down quite a bit, he would have died.

The thing that's interesting to me, is the sort of scripted events, usually a game would point out when you can do something specific, and sometimes it happens here. But there's a few points where your character says something in the right context of like where you're facing or standing. Like the part where the player is looking out at the building they're trying to get to. It triggers an animation and he talks about it. Or when the player was looking outside the window after the bird thing first shows up, he turns around and Elizabeth has started to walk away so he calls after her. It's an interesting way of storytelling that can string together all these little pieces to create an interesting experience.

Wow, I haven't seen such great story driven gameplay in a very long time, this really reminds me of the intro to "Prey" when you're getting abducted by aliens and it takes you through the spaceship.. I always thought that was IMO the best singleplayer experience I've ever had, I think BIoshock: Infinite will actually top that for me.. just simply amazed by that trailer and cannot wait for this game... :panic:

Actually it seems you can only have 2 weapons at a time, so a melee is going to be that much more important.

P.S. WATCH IT! Its awesome, and you'll forget it in a year not to mention how much the gameplay previews changed in bioshock, the entire environments were set up differant just the basic ideas of the Big Daddy/Little Sisters remained.

Just ordered Bioshock 2 to play through before infinite.I loved the first game, such a great story too.

Yes i know this takes place before the events in the first two games.Still want to play B2 first though.

Pumped for this one! Bioshock games have always been so amazing and atmospheric with great unique environments, story, gameplay and killer visuals!

This thread really needs a bump!!!

Back in December, there was a survey from us here at Irrational to better understand how you play games. We had a hunch about a new feature for BioShock Infinite, and we built this survey to see if it’s something that our fans wanted. The results of the survey are in and we heard what you want loud and clear, which is why we’re proud to announce something new for the game: 1999 Mode!
BioShock Infinite’s 1999 Mode will feature an especially demanding gaming experience, forcing you to examine your decisions while going through your adventure in Columbia. With every choice you make, there are irreversible implications, and if your choices guide you down a path not suited to your play style, you will suffer for it. It’s not simply a matter of adjusting the difficulty sliders in the game – the team went much further than that. Resource planning? If you’re to survive this mode, proper planning will be crucial. Combat specializations? You’ll need to develop them efficiently and effectively throughout the story; any weapon will be useless to you unless you have that specialization. Combat? You will need to carefully target every shot, and your health will be set to an entirely different baseline. Game saves? Well, yes, there will be those, but according to Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine “there are game saves, and you’re gonna _____*ing need them.”
“We want to give our oldest and most committed fans an option to go back to our roots," said Levine. "In 1999 Mode, gamers face more of the permanent consequences of their gameplay decisions. In BioShock Infinite, gamers will have to sweat out the results of their actions. In addition, 1999 Mode will demand that players pick specializations, and focus on them."
