I love this statue. I miss mine. :(

I miss mine too :monkey2.....it's packed away in the box at the moment....:wink1:

All I ever see you doing around here is bashing Sideshow. Why are you even a member of these forums? Troll! :nana: :lol

Thats cause thats how I roll. :nana:

I think had SS had weathered the pleather of the final product it would have made a huge difference, but it still don't think it would have looked as good as the genuine leather of the prototype. :( And while I do agree SS really messed up on this one, it's never happened before or since, so I do find the concerns of some to be somewhat without merit. :dunno

Agreed, I think it would have been night and day difference. Right it would be hard to match the leather for sure. I wonder how much cost it would add to a piece in general to use real leather?

Almost all my SSW statues are gone. All I have left is the psuedo-Fellowship, the Easterling and the Uruk-hai Scout Swordsman. The pseudo-Fellowship will probably be gone soon but someone will have the pry the USS from my cold dead hands. :lol

That's a good question. I've often considered replacing the pleather with genuine, weathered leather but I wouldn't even know where to begin. :dunno I don't even know if it could be done without removing some of the armour first. :horror I've also been waiting years for SS to put the SDCC prototype up for auction in a Diane Kamahele auction....to no avail. :monkey2

The first step in doing this is to know where you live.....and I know where you live. :naughty

You can buy a huge bags of leather scraps for very little money. Local craft stores have them. A five pound bag, which could last you the rest of your life, is only $8.

I replaced mine with real leather, it looks a million times better. I'm also going to modify the NECA 1/4 Predator with real leather as well.

Not sure I care enough to get this one ... Lurtz and Beserker had a quality about them. This one... not to sure.

Thanks for the tip! Do you happen to have any pic's you care to share with us?

I haven't been through the old MO thread yet but I remember that there were a few who modified the tunic on their statue. It looked great too!

I didn't care for the Moria Orc Ex PF as soon as I opened it. The funny thing was that it wasn't even just the red pleather, I just didn't like it for some reason and sold it right away. I did the same thing with the first Indiana Jones Ex PF. :dunno

Man, that would be more work than I would ever have the guts to try. :lol I would say someday you might see it for auction.

I don't recall you looking all that hot the last time I saw you....:monkey3 :lol

I do. Strange how the 360 prototype and the original prototype on display at SDCC two weeks earlier look so different......:monkey3 Not to mention how different the 2nd prototype looks from the original in the Comic-Con '08 Podium #38 video. The same video where Scott Klauder, when describing the statue, specifically says "underneath the armour there's all this broken up and like, decayed leather that's all just weather beaten and it's all stitched up too so it really gives you that real, really cool-like under the ground kinda, I just made this thing outta hides laying around, feel to it" :lol

Maybe it's just me, but it almost looks like SS had more than one prototype......:naughty And too bad the end product didn't look like either.....:(

The old guy in the video looks a bit younger than you Frank, but other than that the resemblance is uncanny. :lol
