Did manage to get one thing confirmed during my mass of emails regarding OCD inaccuracies they may of not noticed, You see those red decals on the blue pipes? see how in the movie there is red decals on each notch holding on the pipes, and n the proto they were only on one notch. I pointed it out and they said they already fixed that. Still trying to find it if the fins paint job is fixed, but its like trying to get blood from a stone. but there's something fixed at least.

I do want the car soon, but I also want it the best it can be.

there is a really revealing photo of the steering wheel I found too. you can see how the brown colour has worn off to reveal the grey underneath. It was probably that way in 1983, all worn down from years of use.

Guys, I need a second opinion.

The Ecto 1's width is 45cm

I was thinking of buying a TV bench for it but the width of the one I've been looking at is 40cm. Do you think it's a no go? Or do you think the wheels will fit on it?

Well, I worked out that the hood will be about 38.6 cm wide. I think the 45cm is including the ladder and pipes that protrude from the car. The wheels will be in a bit from the hood so I dare say it would fit. Will be tight though. I’m assuming the car will have some sort of wheel lock mechanism like the 1/6 batmobile had and possibly the Delorean to stop it moving. Personally I would try for something a bit bigger.

You could buy a custom top for the cabinet and glue/drill it on. That way you can get whatever size top you need.
I've got a podium I'm just going to go to the hardware store and buy a nice kitchen top for it. You can get marble look or plain colours. Drop into your local hardware and see what tops they have.

that's right.. I saved myself of buying a massive sideboard that would take up all the room, and just plonked a massive piece of hardwood on top of my drawers. I just glued an extension onto it as I miscalculated the length way back in october..

If my calculations are correct Marty, it should be enough for the figures and the car on here. (minus the boxes and all together under a display case)

Just fired off a quick message to Blitzway. They said the car doesn't have a wheel lock mechanism and helpfully advised me to place the car on a flat surface.. Thanks blitzway!
