Delays are par for the course with stuff like this. Sideshow, Hot Toys, smaller shops, they are all guilty. No need to get overly bothered by it. That retailer is just pandering to complaining collectors, and you can't blame them for that.

Yeah, that's the way it works in the end. However I may be mistaken, but in the 20 years I've been collecting, I've never seen a company directly state their product was arriving soon, then counter it with a delay all within a two-week period. [emoji23]

I go back to a point I made previously...I can understand someone canceling a delayed Hawkeye for Infinity War 1 because it gets too close to the inevitable release of the Infinity War 2 release...but this release is what it is...if someone cancels because it is delayed they are only cutting off their nose to spite their face...I do not believe that these cancellations are really a thing.

Problem is the more people are saying take as long as you need no hurry etc... your giving them free reign to just delay it as & when they feel, theres more people annoyed at the constant delays compared to folk giving them an open window to release these. Who is to say the longer there taking to come out they will look any better? Seen this time & again with HT & other manufacturers that extended delays means squat they never look better or are QC free.
If it wasnt the fact i'd lose a massive chunk of deposit i would have cancelled these today, bored of it now.

You offer an interesting perspective. You are probably right that the delays are not introduced to necessarily improve figures but I don't think they are introduced to frustrate customers or allow someone in a factory (particularly in Asia) to squeeze in some extra vacation time or leave the office by 5. These companies must want to release their product more than we want them to because their livelihoods are at stake...the only thing at stake for me is shelf # 8 in my collectibles room. No release means no money...Improved or not they take as long as they take and I do not think collector opinions on the delay could ever have an impact on this.

You are making the assumption that companies are choosing to delay product because they want to. Why would they want to? One could argue that HT moves certain figures to the front or back based on when they want to release them. (I don't believe this is the reason) That doesnt work for smaller companies like Blitzway. They don't offer much more than these so everyday they delay, its costs them money. And just because a handful of people post on some chat board that they are ok with delays, its not like Blitzway is going to say "Ok boys and girls, we got the ok to sit back and twiddle our thumbs for another month." The constant delays reinforce the speculation that labor isn't as available in China like it once was for this kind of product. And in turn is reflected in the increase of prices.

Putting out a high end, 1/6 scale figure is a complicated endeavor. We have no idea what the real issues are behind the scenes, but nothing Blitzway has done so far makes me question the idea that they are trying to put out a quality product in a timely fashion. This timetable isn't very unusual for products like this, as outlined above, and when you're doing something different every time out as these companies do, there can always be new hiccups that they do not account for.

What good do you think exerting pressure could really have on them, anyway? Whether people defend what they're doing or not, I doubt seriously anything would change Blitzway's behavior or the issues they are confronting. If they are changing the release date, then that is something you could criticize. Though there probably is a very good reason for it, they are caught between trying to appease anxious collectors, and trying not to make commitments they can't fulfill. But again, this is something Hot Toys does all the time, and they are as established as it gets. So again, no one is innocent of this.

I ordered these from day one. There is no way in hell I am canceling after waiting this long and also huge fan of the original Ghostbusters.
