Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I dunno guys , I am starting to agree with these things being crap. I just watched to film (which is still a 10/10) and I saw glaring issues with screen accuracy, sculpt and paint. See below for my screen grab, it says it all....

I think I am cancelling my set...
The paint color is off
The Font is wrong
The weathering is non existent.
The brackets connecting the crossbar are not tilted.

It's a mess...

Looks to be about as much difference as between the Matty outfit and the BW outfit though, right?

So if that extra level of accuracy seen on the BW outfit doesn't matter (to the point where we should mock people who even notice these finer differences) then maybe I should just keep my Matty version because it's "sorta close" to accurate?:monkey3

I always see this on here - people love to mock "OCD" "button counters"... but then the exact same people rave about super-accurate products from companies that have clearly employed... OCD button counters.:rotfl

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

You would think this hobby would be simple: buy 1/6 figures of characters from your favorite films and enjoy them.

If only it were that simple for some. :lol

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

sorry to say that, but 1/6 collectors are the worst & nearly impossible to satisfy. Cant find single release without comparison pics or a pic with lines & pointers!

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Where's our shipping notice's ???:dunno:impatient: Anyday now pleeeeeeease.

All good options. I know some individuals spent $1500+ on the RainMan Durden when he initially did a run on them a ways back. The tailoring was decent, but the sculpts had much to be desired. I saw many people trying to offload them unsuccessfully on eBay and in the BST groups once BW released their run. Many of them got very salty as well. However I couldn’t blame some of them for being that way, because lots of people were attacking them left and right, telling them what a travesty the figures were and how they flushed their money away. I guess you can only take so much.

Ouch...but those people had a point...I just took a look at my awesome Blitzway Durden and a picture of the Rainman version and I cannot imagine how I would have felt if I had spent $1500 on that one only to see KA Kim's version hit shelves for a fraction of the cost...guess that is what some of the Blitzway Venkman haters are truly going through right now...

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

It could be just a bad sculpt and folks not salty. I don’t own any GB figs nor am I sold on a purchase. 2 look real good, 1 looks good with a bad paint app and the last one a fairly meh sculpt. The key character (for me) is the one with the meh sculpt...

Hey has anyone started working on any dio's yet, or have any plans on building a specific scene? Would love to see someone recreate the rooftop fight scene with Gozer! :panic:

Eh, personally I think this would be a very boring site if we never debated what any of these figures look like or how we think they could be improved.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

My opinion is that most of this discussion - apart from the real extremes - stems from the fact that the sculpt of Venkman, while accurate, doesn't capture his personality; and for many people Venkman is the heart of the film so his sculpt matters. This isn't as simple as saying the sculpt is good or bad - it's good AND bad.

This is what I currently have, so the Peter sculpt is "top dog" in my book.....

Not going to build any dios, but after I recently PO'd Winston to add him, I've changed my mind and I think I'll be posing them based on the "Throw it" scene. Haven't decided if I'll attach the proton streams, or just base it on the top image:

I don't think you'll be able to fit them flush four abreast in a detolf though, so I'll have to stagger them a bit.

Haha - I have my Matty Venkman WAY in the back of the display. He kinda looks like an animated Venkman. How Matty did such a nice job on the outfits but then made those heads is beyond me.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I've got a Detolf backdrop with a shot from the film of Stay Puft walking down the street. That's about the extent of my diorama.

I forget who, but a member here (IAT knows) made custom metal frame glasses for Tyler and a lot of guys picked them up, even though they weren't cheap, wouldn't be surprised if he does a run for Egon.

And the M8 Lemon. :lol

Same here, was exactly going to do the same. The proton streams looks to good not to use.
