Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Very good points Talibane. You're right, unfortunately I don't think Jaws has quite the wider appeal that Ghostbusters has. Close, but not quite at the same level.

But Rydeck's news does give me a lot of hope that a big company will do Jaws justice some day. :rock

I do really hope we see Blade Runner figures. If Blitzway nailed a 1/6 Deckard... :drool

Yeah Deckard would be an instant purchase for me.

The three heroes of "Jaws" would be pretty damn awesome beside my 1/6 shark, but technically it's a Mako shark so only works for my "Deep Blue Sea"/Samuel L dying display.:lol

I just haven't seen any "Jaws" customs that got me excited enough to bite, but seeing the "2001" figs makes me think they'll get done by a smaller company though hopefully with better apps and sculpt detail than the "2001" figs, which only worked because of the spacesuits.

There's been a few very nice custom 1/6 Deckards, but yeah - BW would nail it (and be way more affordable than a great custom,) and Pris would be an incredible 1/6 figure too.

Ha! I just watched LW2 a week or two ago. Leo's great - reminds me a lot of Grodin from "Midnight Run" but Pesci 's energy turned him into something special.

Trevor Grove's sculpts are pretty incredible, but they were labours of love for him and I think only three casts of each were ever made. :(

Agreed, Scott Petersen has done a very nice job on his Blade Runner sets. I don't think he's quite nailed Ford's sculpt yet, but his Batty, Pris, Rachel, Gaff, Kaiser and Bear and hopefully soon his Sebastian are all excellent.

And yes, the lower price would be a huge plus. :lol

Wow, hadn't seen those Grove ones. Sounds like they were like his ShortRound - not for general release. Were there any pics of the "Jaws" heads painted?

I'm kinda glad he didn't release those because I would have had to grab all of those "Jaws" guys plus the Ozark white shark "Jaws head" to go alongside my "Deep Blue Sea" attack set-up. Sharks rule.:lol

And thanks for the Scott Peterson mention - amazing I had never heard of him and wow, amazing stuff. Love his Austin Powers too, but his Deckard is really good - at least unpainted (I saw one pic with just-okay paint and it looks decent.) How much was that whole set? His Rachel and Pris looks great too.

There are probably pics somewhere out there but they'd be hard to find. I know a member on here has a set of Grove heads.

They're high end stuff - maybe around $800 each? I can't remember exact amounts. Kaiser and Bear were a bit less.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

For anyone who has ordered Blitzway products in the past, and received them how accurate are the release dates? The Tyler Durden Fight club figures still seem to be waiting for release so they will be ahead of the Ghostbusters.
Thanks

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I have one of their 1/6 scale sharks - really amazing piece.:clap

Jaws would be cool, but I worry it just doesn't have the depth of buyers that GB and BTTF has. The other issue is it's a bit like GB in that there's no real "lead" character (and at least Murray is still a kinda-star today, none of the Jaws guys are,) more evenly split between the three guys, and it would also be tough for BW to do the nemesis of the movie because it'd be huge.

With Blade Runner II coming next year, I think Blade Runner would be a more obvious bet for BW's new license because HF just had his "sci-fi" swan song with TFA and you could also do one or two other cool BR figures like Daryl Hannah and Rutger Hauer's characters, plus even do the spinner car because we've got a major trend going for eighties iconic sci-fi/fantasy cars being done in 1/6.

GB got this treatment because of the de-boot :)lol) so BR will too with its sequel.

BW doing Deckard, the Spinner and Pris would be very cool.

Hope you are right on BR! Makes perfect sense!:clap

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Blade Runner would be incredible. But is the most complicated license. I'd be surprised if WB manage to untangle all that ******** for the anniversary next year.

I was going to post something similar. Various companies have tried doing Blade Runner in the past, but the most we've seen officially, that I know of, is a spinner car that was available in a Blu Ray set in Japan, a 1:1 scale prop replica of the gun (and I'm not 100% sure that was ever licensed), and an Ertl car set released in the '80s. No figures that I'm aware of, though bootlegs have been available for a long time.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I'd be all for a Lethal Weapon one set.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Wow, just opened this thread to read the commentary on the Jaws figures. That would be insane and instant purchases for me. Quint, Brody, and Hooper all on one shelf. Glorious.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I have to admit this has been a great year for 1/6 collectors some serious grail wishes filled for me with Blitzway Ghostbusters, QMX Star Trek and Star Ace announcing Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Kill Bill. I'd love some Reservoir Dogs and official Die Hard but am running out of big wishes! Ohhh id take a Blitzway Indiana Jones though

What? I'm now going to have to go back through this thread to find out why Jaws is being mentioned. Got a feeling I'm going to be disappointed and it'll just be some 'what might they make next?' type musing, but if Brody, Hooper and Quint (the greatest triumvirate in any movie) were ever to receive 1/6 treatment similar to what Blitzway have produced here for Ghostbusters, well, it might just break my w***y. I mean, I like Ghostbusters well enough (for nostalgia value mainly) but it's nowhere near being in the same league as Jaws when it comes to the pantheon of genuine classics. Nowhere near (No offence. I realise this is a Ghostbusters thread after all).

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Knowing what we know about the company's previous offerings, what could be Blitzway's likely new license...?

Die Hard?

Blade Runner?

Rambo?

Jaws? - seems really unlikely to me
