Merry Christmas Freaks! (In Australia--because I can't post a photo worth a crap!)
Merry Christmas to you (and every else) too! ..and I'm glad it's (almost) over lol. Now only a few more weeks of BS craziness on the road/in stores with returning madness.
So anyone got replacement parts yet?
Same for me..not yet. But it's only been 5 days since Bluegill emailed me wanting additional pics of the Bluesky box stickers, UPC barcodes, *** (yes please), my phone #, blood type, ancestry DNA results, address and my favorite flavor of ice cream. It would've been nice for piece of mind to get a follow up email stating that everything looks good and you should be receiving your parts by mail within 6 weeks....or something to that extent. Pretty crazy the invoices weren't sufficient enough..like they really want pictures of those Blueballs stickers lol - seriously? I mean, my Ray didn't even come with one. Good thing it peeled off Venkman's shipper box easy so I could slap it on the other one for another pic.

BBTS acted like they didn't have any responsibility, but in the email I got from Blitzway it was to be handled through BBTS (which I showed them). I have not heard back for 3 weeks now from BBTS....

WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED A REPLACEMENT PART

Sorry if this was mentioned already. I don't have time to sift through the thread to see.
People keep telling me that they are getting told to contact the store they bought their Ghostbusters from and that's wrong.

If you bought the Blitzway Ghostbusters Special Pack, 3-Pack or a single figure and you have a defective part that needs replacing, do this:

1. Take a photo of the defective part.
2. Take a photo of your invoice from the store you bought it from. Flossie's, Timewalker, etc.
3. Send both photos along with an explanation of the problem to [email protected]

They have a shipment of replacement parts on the way and they will deal with your problem directly.

Yeah I told Steve at Timewalker about my broken arm problem and it sounded like just a routine thing for him to submit all the QC claims to the distributor so they can take care of it. Don't know why it would be different for BBTS or anyone else.

They are the originals ones just modded. I shaved downt he ends so they would fit in his mouth. Worked out well.

Steve from Timewalker Toys also sent a $40 coupon for paying for the Full Set early! Very nice of him to do this! Great customer service and a great Company overall.

Allright, so here's my dumb question, which hand sets should be used to hold the wand?

There's a right open grip hand

a set of closed gripping hands

and a set of relaxed hands.

I honestly don't even know how the wand is held in the first place.

It looks like the open grip hand is used to hold the wand, the thumb is in a position to flip the switch on the wand, though it seems very fragile, but the left grip hand is posed at too extreme of an angle to hold the shooting end of the wand properly. I'm confused by the whole set up.

I dont usually buy these things but curiosity got the best of me. The SS head is a decent attempt at Murray. I'd go so far as to say there's more Murray in it than the Blitzway. What do you all think?

Yeah, like previously mentioned with the response from John over at Flossie's..from talking to him, it completely is a Bluefin issue. He told me whomever you bought them from will have nothing to do with receiving the replacement parts. So the various retailers won't act as the middle man and you'll get the parts directly from Bluefin; which makes things a lot less of a hassle.
For those that have put the trap on Ray's belt where should I attach it?
From what I recall, Ray had it connected to this V-shaped connector holster thing attached to the left side of their belt. Since Blitzway didn't provide the holster, you'd just have to loop the cord through the belt and have it hanging like that. I've seen pics of ppl doing that and it didn't look bad at all.

I took off the right gloved hand on the figure and used the gripping hand. Heat up the hand with hairdryer put loose right hand on gun grip area of wand--put on figure. The left hand that is on the figure out of the box is fine for resting the other part on. Looks quite natural that way.

I think the Blitzway sculpt is a better likeness. I just showed my friend to get there unbiased opinion and he said the Soldier Story one looks like Robin Williams lol.

Comparing painted to unpainted is nearly 'apples and oranges' at this point.

davejames' repaint from earlier shows that the BW sculpt can be made to look very good.

That repaint really brings out the Murray likeness that is there in sculpt. The thing that disappoints me most is the expression they have given him. That blank stare doesn't really fit any pose apart from casually standing there with his cigarette looking blankly into the distance. That's my one and only complaint with this three pack, still waiting on Winston.

Egon and Ray don't have especially expressive sculpts but they at least look like they are concentrating on something. Much more fun posing them in different ways either with their wands or the other accessories.

That's partly why I based the poses for mine on the scene when they were watching the portal open and Gozer appeared. Not the most "fun" poses, but I quite like them. Like you said, Venkman looks like he's staring at something in the distance (like in the scene), Ray and Egon look like they're concentrating on something (sans Egon's sneer) and the expression on the Winston sculpt is nearly identical to his expression in the scene.

Plus, I consider them "safe" poses where joints aren't really manipulated, nor are the packs.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Those poses work well. I think the expressions suit at best battle ready poses. With the proton beams attached, it doesn't look right. From memory it took quite a bit of effort when they were using them but I understand why Blitzway didn't go for expressions too specific.

Have you changed things around on their belts much? I've kept mine completely stock so far assuming they were pretty screen accurate.

I took off their walkie talkies because they weren't wearing them at all during the Gozer encounter. I moved both of the keychain attachments around according to how they were during that encounter as well. During the Slimer encounter, both the smaller and longer attachments were on the right side of their belt, not the left as they come stock. They were also on the right side during the Gozer encounter, with Venkman's shorter one being in the back on his left side. Winston had no keychain attachments at all on his belt, so I removed his.

So in short, quite a lot of rearranging the placement of stuff on their belts, or just taking things off all together that weren't there.

I used these photos as reference photos for placement of the keychains. Some changed from scene to scene in the same act, but I just put them as accurate as possible. Also adjusted the length of them to make them longer so they don't fit as tight, putting stress on the buckle.
