With its imminent release I've been going back and studying the pics of this statue. I think it's fantastic, the proportions and posture are spot on but there is something that feels, IMO, just a little off with the likeness. The stand off shots look great, but then this close up shot for example...I'm just not sure...whether it's the lips or eyes or something...or perhaps just the photo itself.

Don't get me wrong, I think the thing is brilliant and will be getting it but I'd be interested in opinions on the likeness from those who have multiple Bruce figures in their collection. How this compares and just general thoughts on this latest facial likeness.

I know that it is such a subjective thing. The revived thread showing Arnie's smiling Bruce - where the likeness is truly superb - has just brought up the comparison issue for me and how hard it is to capture a definitive likeness from a single facial capture.

as a comparison, likeness is very good.maybe a thinner jawline, and eyebrows going more upwards and even bigger hair.but we can all be picky.
but it's the best bruce to date, better than GOD and the HD1002(for likeness not pose)which I really like.bruce must be the hardest guy to capture
his face change so much in 2 years.more so during ETD.

If he comes out just like the prototype, I shall have no complaints. REALLY looking forward to this, can't believe its so close already.

Yaeh agreed, I can't see myself ever needing another.

The likeness / expression / battle damaged look / pose / ....everything I would choose if this was custom built for me.

And the feet are something else entirely .... he actually looks like he is walking off, just amazing.

funny how a little thing like the feet can be such a wow factor- it really captures that sense of cautious motion

Unless Blitzway announces 1/3 statues for the 3 other Bruce Lee movies.

Nah.
Not sure if Mr Chris meant differently, but I don't need a $1000 1/3 scale statue from Big Boss or Fist of Fury.
Way of the Dragon is a big maybe, but I feel I've been there done that with Enterbay's amazing 1/4 WotD figure.

should blitzway indeed do bruce's other films.then that equates to about £1500-£1700:horror.in the next two years, going by blitzways timeframe and price increase no doubt.but like SAB said do I need all 5,NO would I like all 5 YES.it's purely a costing issue with me (with the possibility of giving up work due to health):(
if I sold all my 1/6TH I'd consider it,but for now ETD brucey is gonna be it.but knowing my luck blitzway will end up doing a stunning big boss...unlike EB.and the 2 other movies:mad:

If Arnie Kim is still with Blitzway for the next 3 years maybe there is a chance he'll try sculpting for the 3 other movies.

If each statue is even better than the previous one, it's going to be hard to resist.

It would be a collector's dream to have 1/3 Bruce Lee statues for each of his movies, but it's scary thinking of how much money it would all cost.

That's pretty much the scenario I'm thinking might keep some (like me) in the market for more BL collectibles. This is so far ahead of what has been previously released. Imagine (if you can) another jump in quality/likeness like that? If I see something better than this in the future, how am I going to resist?

At this size & price though, I feel one masterpiece would be enough to represent BL on my shelf, & this piece ticks many boxes, so I feel this might be it .....

For now :lol

There will always be something better.
But to have just one representation of Bruce Lee in a collection, well this would be pretty much it for me.
The iconography of Enter The Dragon, for mine, is Lee at his pinnacle - with his thought process, combative skill and physical body.

The proportions, pose and amazing lightness of feet on this statue.
The likeness could be closer but as a complete piece - the capturing of the aura of the man and his delicate motion - I think it will be some time before we see something overall as accurate and refined as this.

I've always said that I would love a 1.1 bust of bruce, but I cant see arnie ever doing one (or anyone else who can do the little dragon justice)those out there are are not worth the money due to lack of likeness.so as my collecting goes, this is it.
I've been following bruce for 40 years, and collecting for 20 of them, the man is a one off never to be seen again.
interesting news from blitzway

We inform you that we will release the Art Toys in collaboration with Playboy and world\'s renowned art toy artists in 2015

I think rather than another giant Bruce statue, I'd like to see a smaller scale line of people he fought or co-stared with that I could accent this statue with. Guys like Bob Wall, John Saxon, Jim Kelly, Yang Sze, Jackie Chan, Sammo, Shih Kien and Chuck Norris... and I'm prob missing some other good ones. lol Kareem
