Blitzway - Mask of Zorro - Zorro Collectible Figure

Would anyone who has got both a Batman and Zorro figures at this scale, care to pose them side-by-side, essentially Batman with his great-granddaddy.
Maybe staged opposite, or back to back, with a Batarang and Grapnel, to counter the Sword and Whip?
Would love to see them together.

I hope so.

Small detail (yet it's those that make the difference) , something Blitzway could add, which Triad seems to have managed, so no reason Blitzway shouldn't be able too, is the boot-spurs.

While not everyone will pose him on a horse, and he doesn't wear them throughout Mask \ film, they are in Mask's opening title sequence;



...and seen throughout Legend (same costume), so if they are going for a one time definitive/ultimate figure, it'd be nice detail to add from the go.

Again the opening walk out in Mask with the spurs, remains so Iconic, it reads incomplete without them
And he wears them through out Legend, so if this is the definitive "ultimate" version he should have them.

I dunno what to say 'coz haven't had a fig make me smile like this in a while *warm fuzzies*. For sure Blitzway captured the look and feel of Banderas' Zorro, and IMO there's some stuff that's pretty effective, like whatever the plastic used for the gloves looks great. There's some nice detail touches like the clear gem in the metal necklace, and the hat looks good.

Then there's the other stuff that needs the WILL to futz. I added spurs (Redman fig) which IMO should have been included, tho not critical (but opening scene to movie, Blitzway! - the jingle of spurs and all that....)

Have to agree on the spurs, tried pointing it out way back at prototype stage, yet didn't get much support or traction here, sadly don't think the omission of the spurs ever came to their attention.
Your solution and display looks fantastic however.
Love your use of the Haberdashery door for display.

On the other hand I....m having fun turning ASMUS' Door to Haberdashery into a Mexican cantina - WIP. Not sure I have the stones to Dremel a carved Z into the door (as soon as I pry the boards off this diorama).

Overall IMO what Asta said, a few posts back. There's a lot good, like a solid body and the cape. And a lot that could be better for the retail price. For the customizers and kitbashers there's plenty to work with, and he looks good as is. It's a badass fig. D@mmit.

I saw your post about it in the Boba Fett thread of all places, it's what brought me here, as I'd otherwise forgotten about this release.

On the other hand I've got a horse on order ....

Pleas post pictures when you get it, I'd love to see this Zorro on Tornado, and your displays looks sensational.

It was made of Polyurethane foam, there?s yellow and white (the one I used). About the training circle I was planing one from cardbox.

Gotta say, this is a dream figure to have, for myself. I had so luved the film back then, and I even dressed up as Zorro for Halloween! Just to have this figure now, to have something of a great replication of the past is reminiscential.

As per the figure, I think it is good, and a great representation of Zorro. I do agree that the figure isn't up to par with other companies in terms of refinement of details, but nevertheless I think it's adequate. I quite like the gold emblems on the hat. The black costume is nicely tailored in my opinion. The head sculpts are pretty good; the smirk on the masked head is a delight and has a good likeness to A.B. The unmasked head is also good (good likeness as well), and makes for a nice inclusion. I wish a third head was included, a masked version without the hat (similar to Pirate Roberts).

My Zorro figures are still box'd up, but I scored a loose one And, it's so fun to mix him in with my other superheroes!!

Yes I'd want a 1/6 CZJ figure!! Head sculpt and body proportions need to be on point

It'd be cool if it came with an Anthony Hopkins sculpt too, since he was the original Zorro (in the movie), and wore the same outfit (I assume). I always thought he looked cool in that film.

Yeah I'd also be down for a Hopkins Zorro, would be great to have with Banderas' Zorro to show the legacy.


Also, now I'm sort of contemplating a 1/6 black horse to go along with Zorro lol

LOL funny classic (Fairbabks) Zorro gets cited as the influence, but still before Batman contemporary Zorro was already fighting mobsters with tommyguns in the big city, swinging off city rooftops, and driving off in a black coupe (with Alfred/Bernardo (although in this case descendant Renaldo). I wonder if this film was the bigger influence on Kane & Finger?

And a good horse chase scene...

Much of Indiana Jones was straight homage to some of the Zorro cliffhanger serials, some even thematically contemporaries of Indiana Jones (see Zorro Rides again), which were a huge influence on Lucas and Spielberg.
Although I hope Banderas' character is an ally, or a friendly rival, or even if he's the villain, hope he can somewhat homage that.

Yeah I watch this collector's reviews, plus I'm a fluent spanish speaker so I can defs understand him (I also like watching other spanish speaking reviewers.)

Man, I think it's be amazing if new revamped Zorro movies are made. Personally I'd like to see Banderas reprise the role of an older Zorro passing down the title to a new generation Zorro similar to his first film. Heck, with de-aging digital tech maybe they can show sequences of Banderas' Zorro in flashbacks, showing him is his complete prime. It'd be epic in my opinion.

Zorro's Fighting Legion (1939)

Though you can see elements in dozens of others.

Yakima Canutt did the stagecoach stunt in the film, Stagecoach (1939), then improved on it for Zorro's Fighting Legion.

There are some truly death defying stunts in some of the serials, and those stuntmen earned their pay!

It was common for them to put rubber tubing under their hat bands so they didn't lose their hats during the fights - and the fights in Republic's serials were violent affairs, with the intention of destroying as much furniture and props possible! Keeping their hats may have been an influence on Indy never losing his.

(I went down a rabbit hole of over fifty serials looking for possible sources for Indy and Star Wars).

To cure the shirt issue I pulled it down and fastened it with electrical tape. Otherwise it just kept wanting to rise up again.

Sideshow used to have a neat system for that kind of wardrobe malfunction: an elasticated loop at the bottom of the shirt that went between the figure's legs.

Brilliant, any suggestions for getting wrinkles out of the shirt.
Without removing it if possible? If not, with removing?
