Well, like those in the thread before me, I cut the clear plastic behind the chest armour, then I microwaved a cup of water for about 2 minutes. BE CAREFUL YOU DON'T GET BURNED! Then I dunked the ab plate vest section into the water for about 5 minutes, keeping an eye on it in case it curled or melted or something. Then I took it out, wearing gloves and I CAREFULLY bent it with my hands. When it bends to what you like, just run it under cold water and there you have it.
USE CAUTION when handling this piece. It will be VERY HOT! Good luck.
Just ordered my Boba Fett. Can anyone summarize the best way to do the chest piece mod?
Thanks Matt.
But how do I tell what is the excess plastic?
Anyone thought of maybe (slightly) bulking the legs on a slim up enough to take the "stickliness" out of the leg area? Also, where are you guys drilling holes in the back of your Slims for the screws? I'd like to see a pic if anyone has one.
Boba's legs are skinny, so the tt slim's legs look right (look up a couple of pics from ESB to see what i mean) If anything, I found the legs looked too padded already due to excess fabric in the legs, had to futz it out.
I didn't drill his back, I found double sided tape worked well, but you can probably drill into it anyway.
Ok, it's just that one person (with pics in this thread) can't remember who, had theirs on a slim and the legs looked like pencils.
I was able to put black electrical tape on the HT knee peg. From there I was able to attach the SS/Fett lower leg section into the slightly modified peg. It's ok but a couple of times the figure would fall over; so I make sure to give my custom Fett a cool yet safe pose...
