Boba Fett Customizations/Modifications: Image Thread

Water can still warp it so be careful, mine warped in water but luckily it was so minor I sanded it out prior to repaint. I guess the way around it is to do it for very little time over and over, hot, 10 second wait, cold, over and over rather than 1 big soak.

If you put it in hot water like I did, give it like 20 seconds max. It'll be nice and pliable after only that short period.

Yup. The correct poly/floquil colors for Fett's helmet are:

Panzer Oligrun - Dome and lower cheeks
German RLM73 Green - Back of helm
PRR Brunswick Green - Upper cheeks
Caboose or Boxcar Red - T-visor mandibles
Reefer Grey, Concrete and Chrome - Dents/scratches

Thanks guys! It was actually the FRONT of the plate that warped on me. I actualy also cut the back clear plastic into different sections, in fact I ripped the plate right off the rivits when bending it.

it looked like it could have been a massive armor ding but the fact that it is inaccurate and technically ruined just ate at me. I will maybe have to try water instead of a dryer.

You got the shades for the chest? i've mixed the helmet shades well enough by eye but the chest shade I can't get quite right yet lol.

Hi Guys ,

I just found an alternative helmet for SSC boba Fett , was hoping to get your opinions , I just purchased one for 20.00 and it seems to be alot more accurate shape wise , but would need a recolour with proper damage etc .

THese are called Mini Helmets made by Tomy , to me the shape is dead on and heres a photo I found with the comparrison next to SSC Boba

So what do you think

Already tried. It's slightly underscaled.

The photo with the sideshow comparriosn next to the takara/tomy head , the sideshow appears slightly larger because the takara helmet is lying flat against the floor here , but i really dont know what this will be like until i receive it

Look at the earpieces. The proportions will be out of scale. The helmet will look shrunken compared to the proportions with the rest of the body.

Back to the drawing board i guess, what a smae it looked fairly accurate too.

Hey also I just purhcased a second SSC Boba Fett and i might be selling the spare parts etc .

I might consider doing a complete repaint including the shoulder armour , knee pads , chest armour and helmet

I'd try just getting some fine line masking tape and painting them on lightly.

I found the yellow armour pieces to be tolerable colour wise, couldnt see anything wrong with em really, so I just repainted all the green on my boba, but needs weathering (been too busy at university) together with the helmet flare mod its shaping up super

Also the dark grey on his gloves is too light!!!! ohh and the little decal on his chest is within a dark green circle, its meant to be DARK BLUE! (need the magnifying glass for that 1 folks) One day when mines finished, it will all be worth it, and probably be the last of the BH to be added to my lineup haha

Here's the Tomy helmet that someone tried to bash over at the Rebelscum forums. As you can see it is underscaled so it will look even smaller on the Sideshow Fett.
