Ok here is my take on this. Polystone seems like its way to fragile when its a thin sheet which Boba armour will be. Yes Sideshow probally could have got made it work and got it shipped to us in one peice. But what happens if it breaks in say 2 months due to some small impact on the armour (Things happed). Now you have a broken Fett and guess what sideshow doesnt have to anything for you its past the return time. Hell I never knew Vaders helmet was plastic until I read that so it may not be noticable.

As far as Troopers they have a lot more armour then fett and didnt wear it on a lose fitting suit. The troopers could be made of poly body and armour then put the tight black suit on top of the poly kida like Spiderman.

I have to say this is a stunning looking PF. I hope SS can come on and clarify if the body is polystone. If thats the case i can live with the body armour being plastic.

I would just like to know how many people would've paid the $325 price tag if we had known from the beginning that this was going to be made of plastic. And SS can suck my balls by trying to say we're going to save money on shipping. What, $3? They can keep my $3 and give me what they were originally selling and what we all paid for!

I think it's already been said that the body is plastic as well. That's why many are not happy.

That's my main gripe.

I still think this is going to be a visually stunning item (which, when all is said and done, is the only thing that really matters). But like I said earlier, when people here the word 'plastic', they automatically think cheap.

And SS really didn't do themselves any favors by waiting this long. I'd be amazed if they didn't know this was going to be made of plastic before pre-orders. It would've caused a serious delay in production to change materials, I'm assuming that was the delay that lead to the Luke/Yoda piece coming out first. So I'm assuming SS has known all along and been lying to us the whole time.

How many collector actually read the PB?

It's only been announced last night, not everyone sits & waits for updates like us

you should venture over to other boards more often......more than 5 on other boards

We are such a small percentage of the greater whole Josh. 5 people is a vast understatement. There are other boards with different demographics and different opinions than most freaks. I know for a fact a lot more than 5 people are upset about this. Furthermore, you had to read the production blog to find this information out which is not right. It should also be listed on the product page. I feel Fett will ultimately be on a second chance offer.

I don't know how many read the PB. I do as do most of you if others don't then they can't say the info isn't out there.

Outside of anyone freaking out here and RS (which I don't get to worked up over because that's like the Chicken Little Manufacturing Company) most seem to be fairly calm.

I meant 5 here and was using it mainly as an exaggeration of how small the % is that are freaking.

Seriously, this is Gentle Giant-like to wait until the 11th hour to inform everyone that this is a $325 plastic statue.

BAD FORM, SSC. Very bad form.

And like I said, I'm not paying a premium price for plastic when PF figures made of higher-quality materials are the same price. If they don't lower the price at least $50 they are losing a sale here. Period.

Hey does anyone have any opinions on the Boba Fett PF?

On the one hand its quite disappointing that its all plastic. I would have assumed they'd go all out for Fett (polystone body and gun, metal armor and antenna) but oh well. In their catalog they mentioned that one of the reasons they chose polystone for their high end collectibles was due to its fantastic ability to hold paint apps that really pop. I wonder if plastic will hurt the paint apps in the long or short term? I have no expertise whatsoever on that, just curious.

However, on the plus side I should be able to get an awesome looking plastic Fett for about $200 now. I really don't think you can say this is the "ultimate" scaled Fett collectible, (Medicom will probably take that honor) but at least this is the biggest.

I will say that at some angles the helmet looks much better:

Did they lose the weathering on the clothes? Would be a shame if they did.

Then I will LEAVE IT without any second thoughts. And I'll most likely be cancelling other stuff as well on principle.

As I said in another thread... The design & production reasons behind this decision I can live with. But I know for a fact that ABS costs much less than polystone, so for SSC to solicit a mixed-media statue with polystone parts all of this time and then let this cat out of the bag at this point without adjusting the price accordingly is a load of horse crap.

I assume at least the base will still be polystone? That would be really sad if the 12 inch Jabba had a polystone base and Fett did not. Or maybe just wall artifact is polystone. That'd be funny if SS made that the most expensive part of the whole figure.

The day after shipping they will announce that they chnaged the base. It will now be a standard 12" figure "stand" coming with your Fett.
