Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

As far as the Obi piece, we've seen one set of pics from one person. Where are all the other pics from other customers? Did anyone think that it may have been a custom head that was popped on that statue? I'm not going to do any more bashing until it's confirmed that that was an actual production piece.

I would just like to know how many people would've paid the $325 price tag if we had known from the beginning that this was going to be made of plastic. And SS can suck my balls by trying to say we're going to save money on shipping. What, $3? They can keep my $3 and give me what they were originally selling and what we all paid for!

Come on Josh. I think you know Loki is usually one to say "wait till it's in hand" before bashing it. In this case many are upset because this issue of plastic was not brought out until AFTER the item sold out and the 25 day notice came out. Sure, you can still cancel and order, but I am sure SS knew about this before a few days ago. It should have been made public from the beginning so people knew what they were ordering.

Not to mention not everyone posts here or on any board for that matter. Nor does everyone go back to the SS site to check every little update. They order and wait. What about those who won't know they got plastic until it shows up? Talk about disappointment.
:lol
Yeah what about those people that will have no clue until plastic Fett arrives. That would be very disappointing.

Call SS and give them two choices.....Pollystone or your balls! :rotfl

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

And how many people here have the regular coming from a dealer? Then we'd get hit with a cancellation fee.

I think the worst part about this is that I don't see this thing holding it's value at all now. The large ES was one thing, but people won't want to jump on a $300 piece of plastic.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

I will wait until I get it and if I don't feel it is worth the price tag, I will send it back and pick it up off of eBay on the cheap later on.

Like others said, plastic does have the negative "toy like" connotation associated to it. It might be fine, but not what I was expecting when it was ordered otherwise I would have passed for over $300.

Helmet is still wrong too....:D

That's pretty much where I am. I hope it's a great piece and that I won't won't to send it back. I am not going to cancel because of this, but if it's not up to standards then I'll send it back.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

Is this new material going to be the future of all PF's and maquettes for that matter. I certainly hope not.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

At least we knew the killer ES from the beginning. I really doubt that Fett will hold it's value because there are simply too many of them and the exclusive is weak. Plastic is the nail in the coffin. Normal non-freaks out there that are very casual collectors will care, as well as the hard-core ones. Any way you put it, Fett is quite a bit of money...I guess we will see if people feel he is worth his price tag.

All I'm gonna say is look at the GG bust. It has a retarded high ES and is still one of the most expensive GG busts that isn't an exclusive.

Fett has a posse.

Most of the time yes. I've seen plenty of times where it has been the other though. It probably would have been best to say something a couple months ago but I would venture to guess that SS didn't think it would cause such a stir.

I would bet 95% or better would not be able to tell it's plastic.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

I hope people can see pass their Fett love and not settle for an inferior product if we get one.

We are getting a big 12" action figure here and I am not happy about it and I think that these feelings have to be expressed monetarily.

I hope you're right.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

Here's my 2 cents:

Body, armour & everything should be high quality polystone.

I don't care for the reasons about shipping, it's up to sideshow to design packaging to prevent this from happening.

Making it out of plastic is just sideshow trying to cut down their costs for broken returns
This is a financial decision by sideshow, nothing else. Sadly this decision will probably result in a lot of cancellations (for those who know pre-shipping)

This could not have been a last minute decision so why wait untill now to inform us?.........to minimise cancellations

Premium Format Boba Fett?
More like Minimum Format Boba Fett

I bet they knew a long time ago that they would be making it out of plastic. With each passing moment I get closer and closer to cancelling this thing. Screw the hassle of returning it.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

seriously though, the decision must of been taken a long time ago for the production run of making 4000 sets of armour cast, painted & assembled, yet we find out 25-30 days before shipping?

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

I have to say this is a stunning looking PF. I hope SS can come on and clarify if the body is polystone. If thats the case i can live with the body armour being plastic.

I think it's already been said that the body is plastic as well. That's why many are not happy.
