The base would bother me more than anything else honestly. In the end though how many people go around holding their PF. The lightness when picking him up just isn't as I never pick up any of my PF. Also as far as accepting IRISH that road works both ways.

What are you talking about? Of course people are looking at him. Even in these reviews, the details of the piece and overall look are applauded. But the fact of that matter is that the cheap, light plastic used in the piece bothers the crap out of a lot of us. Just accept that.

It's actually pretty simple. It may look like a million bucks but many of us are bothered by how CHEAP it feels. And it's not just the figure. It's the base, too. The whole thing does not feel like a PF figure at all, imho. Sure, it may LOOK like one... but is that truly worth $325?? To some, yes. To others, most definitely no.

I spent the weekend at a friend's who has one of these. And, yes, it does look nice (and even the inaccurate helmet looks better in person than in the pics). But even though I was already more than vocal about the whole light plastic issue I was still stunned at just how light and cheap the thing is, including the base.

Bluntly put, this is an 18" toy action figure with 1 point of articulation. And that's fine, but I'm not shelling out anywhere close to $325 for it.

Why don't you just accept that it is what it is and stop b!tching about forever. I think you all have made your point a thousand times by now.

I made a comment on statue forum awhile back stating: "If someone made a Boba Fett that looked exactly like Sideshow's PF Fett...and it was made out of paper, plastic...whatever....people would bid up to $1000 on ebay if Sideshow hadn't produce their's yet." Currently there is a custom 1/6 Boba Fett that's made out of (mainly) Hasbro parts, Hot Toys body, etc. that is almost up to $200....and it has problems of it's own (my apologies to the customizer if you're reading this...but I've really got an eye for Fett detail). https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300096340112&rd=1&rd=1

Not a REVIEW persay, but I have over 40 HIGH-RES images of this Premium Format figure.

Upon first inspection...I am disappointed slightly in the plastic armor and sculpture. Also don't like the FLIMSY tubing they used for the weapon on his right arm...mine were all KINKED and BENT.

Overall though, this is a VERY IMPRESSIVE figure...the detail is quite nice despite all the arguing over likeness. There were so many stinkin props used in the filming that no ONE statue or figure is going to get everything right...but this is pretty darn close!

LOVE the ball-jointed HELM...makes for some damn cool poses!

Anywho...enjoy the imagery...

Nice gallery Geb. Man, I hate to say this, but...while the figure looks good, that bent tubing is pretty bad (and obvious as hell).

Part of what has kept me off of the "It sucks!" bandwagon here (besides not actually seeing this piece in person myself) is, a sacrilegious as it will sound in this debate, I don't care what the thing is made out of so long as it looks great.
Is the change in material bad or shocking? For those who've had the pleasure of collecting this line and having a certain expectation of how PF's are constructed based on what they've already received, you bet! And yeah, with such a beloved character involved here, I'm sure even the gang at Sideshow wishes it had handled things a little differently in how the news of this figure's manufacture was disseminated and handled, absolutely.
But I still have to believe there was no dark purpose here of wanting to cut costs for the sake of cutting costs or to rip fans off or anything like that. R & D is R & D...it takes time and trail & error. The end result is still a figure that from the shots and galleries I've seen looks pretty good.

However, having said that...those bent tubes are a pretty blatant problem that should have been addressed in the application of them (sturdier materail) or at the very least in packing & shipping...

At the end of it all...if this figure comes up on "second chance" and I can use my points towards it, I'll get it...

I/m working on a 1/6 Sideshow scale Fett now. It will be a little while before it's finished but I'll be putting my money where my mouth is.

I haven't read any of the threads about the Boba Fett PF, but has anyone noticed yet that he is made of plastic?






Seriously tho, which Fett is this? The ESB one has green gauntlets with white/gray gloves and the ROTJ one has red gauntlets with brown/black gloves. I can't remember offhand, but would this Fett be the version that appears in ANH SE or an EU Fett?
