OK, I made this poll for Connery Bond villains only -- I find them the most memorable, and we only have 2 (Dr. No and Oddjob) from the SS line. For Moore, we already have Jaws and Scaramanga and Tee-Hee. Maybe Nick-Nack would be fun. I can't remember any Dalton or Brosnan villains.

So, if somehow a commissioned piece could be made, would you be in? If so, for how much? As we've seen with other threads like this, the price goes down as more people get in line. So, first, I thought I'd see if anyone even has an interest in getting some Bond villains.

Red Grant - everybody's favorite, but there are Rober Shaw sculpts out there (Dragon "Hessler" for one).

Auric Goldfinger - the most anticipated SS figure since they did Connery, Oddjob and Galore... but for some reason overlooked the key villain.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Pleasance version) - Bond's ultimate enemy. Even though there's no figure to go with him, he's a baddie you really need.

Those three I'm guessing will be the most popular choices. I'm keeping the poll small so as not to dilute it with Rosa Klebb or the less-threatening Blofeld in DAF. But offer up someone else if you like.

So cast your votes and kick in your post so I know who's in...

We'll see now if there is any true support for a crusade for Bond as many have claimed.

Thanks for the help, guys. I wasn't sure if anybody would really be interested in the Bond villains so I figured I'd try this out.

And I agree, I'd love all three myself... but that could get a little pricey.

I think Josh or someone said we need a minimum of 9 people to get the price of the custom sculpt down to a reasonable amount. If I did my math correctly, that would be $31 per sculpt to pay someone $300 to make it. That person has not yet been found... but I will make every effort if we can find 9 people interested in a particular sculpt, and willing to then customize their own figure for it. Its a lot to ask, I know... but right now its the only way I know of to keep the Bond line going in a controlled direction.

So I see there are 10 votes, but only 4 people have responded. If you voted and want to actually get this sculpt, please chime in here so I can keep track of who might want to participate. Don't worry, I won't hold anyone responsible until we get a sculptor onboard and commitments are required.

I'd be willing to do the Goldfinger sculpt.

Cool, Spenser. Awesome in fact. Judging from your work, it would be masterful.

Only problem is right now... a lack of support, which I think explains SS's problem with the line.

But hey, maybe if people know you're doing the sculpt we'll get more real interest. I mean, 8 people voted...unless they're goofing. I'm all over a good Goldfinger sculpt. Gotta have it. Just gotta.

Thanks for throwing in, Spenser!

I think that’s because every one just wants a Baron Bomburst figure from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and they’re too embarrassed to say. :rotfl

:lol

Although, now that I think about it, I would like a Child-Catcher figure. That guy scared me when I was a kid.

"Candy... All free todayyyyyyy!"

Yikes.

I voted for Grant, but I am in on any of the three in the poll. Goldfinger would be an excellent choice if he wins. Still, I'm hoping for Grant!

Question is, what to do about Auric's dids if we get a HS? Ideas?

The golf outfit would be a real lark! Probably not too hard to put together either. Otherwise the light colored suit or military outfit from the end would probably be easiest.

There is a uniform that works perfectly... except for his girth. The sheer size of Goldfinger does create problems in acquiring clothing big enough for him.

Charly_Bond on ebay has a decent Goldfinger golf outfit, as well as an Auric Stud outfit. The basic parts are there, although I'd like to replace the vest. Its possible that he would sell the clothing separately if maybe he had several orders at once. I can follow up with that if anyone's interested.

If I were to build one, I think the tux with gold lapels (laser table) would be the easiest. Just use an extra Bond tuxedo and find an oversized black jacket somewhere -- a dab of GOLD paint -- and voila. Although, personally I've always rather liked the Auric Stud outfit and the Fort Knox overcoat outfit best.

I like Laser Table Goldfinger but we would definitely need a laser table for Bond to go with. Curious, did they re-use that laser beam prop in Flash Gordon when they were interrogating Zarkov?
