13 votes for Goldfinger would be more than enough to commission a sculpt... if those 13 people post here to let me know they really do want in.

Count me in!

I'm also down for any deal we can get for various clothing. I'm new to customizing, so I wouldn't mind some tips on where to look.

OK, I'll start a running list:

1. Wor-Gar
2. Morgan the Raider
3. metaphorge
4. dekadentdave (pending outfit)
5. 2000man
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

I'm not sure if Dekadentdave is really interested or not, so let us know Dave. Others have also chimed in. Please just leave word here that you be in for this.

Spenser has offered to do the sculpt. I think we need to hit 10 for it to be reasonable for all. That would make it $30 per person per sculpt.

Morgan - best place to look is on ebay for loose items if you break down the outfit you prefer. Again, there's a guy on ebay, Charly_Bond, from Argentina who always has some unique Bond figure up. There's a Goldfinger up right now. The clothing is fine. I was never too impressed by the sculpt. If enough people here all want the same outfit for their Goldfinger, I will contact him to see if he'd sell outfits in a package deal. I have asked for myself in the past and he said he only sells the whole figure, no parting out of individual items. But if there's a few of us it might make better financial sense to him.

So come on, all! If you own any SS Connery Bond figures -- then YOU NEED AURIC GOLDFINGER!

I would buy a Goldfinger sculpt, though it would have to wait a couple of weeks.

I'm pretty sure it will take some time to organize all this with Spenser besides just getting the 10 people (or more) that we need.

No pressure, just put your bid in and we'll talk it out before anybody officially commits.

THIS LIST IS ONLY FOR INTEREST -- NO COMMITMENT YET.

I'd be in if I could find the resources to cull together an outfit for him.

Dave, I'm surprised at you. You're one of the best resources on SSF for finding gear and customizing parts to suit figure needs. Your Terminator for example. Certainly if you put your mind to it, you will find the parts. I'm keeping an eye out too. As I find stuff, I'll post it here.

What outfit does everyone want for their Goldfinger?

Auric Stud
Gold-lapel tux
Uniform with overcoat (Fort Knox outfit)
Golf attire

I'd definitely pony up the cash for a Goldfinger

Cool, now we're moving...

LIST SO FAR:

1. Wor-Gar
2. Morgan the Raider
3. metaphorge
4. dekadentdave (pending outfit)
5. 2000man
6.
7.
8.
9.

Again, this just reflects interest, no official commitment yet.

Wow, I'm glad you think so Wor-Gar. I take my cue from other detail-obsessive freaks here like pjam. Anyway, I'm sure I could, if I research thoroughly, pull something together but these things are not always easy to piece together and can certainly add up, in some cases, you can spend twice the cost of the figure just on customizing.

Yep, Pjam is really on the mark with detail -- especially with Terminator and Aliens. He's the man! But believe me, I'm as obsessive about detail as anyone here. Just ask Pjam. :)

It will take some time to find the parts. And it will cost. But hey, you'll have a Goldfinger!

It really gets down to the look you want for him: the gold-lapel tux is fairly simple. A Ken doll tuxedo -- of which there's tons. A little gold paint or material on the lapels. Bam! Auric. Fairly cheap.

As I said, charly_Bond has a suitable Golf outfit and an Auric Stud outfit. Parts can be replaced as better options materialize.

For the Fort Knoex gear -- the uniform, well there's a lot out there. And overcoats as well that just need a dye bath to get that burnt-orange color.

Finding a "heavy" body? Well, the "Goring" figure has a 'fat' body. Or you can just stuff.

Its not really too hard...and its a lot of fun to make your own figure. I've done it alot.

Here's some pictures of various Goldfinger looks:

Choose your outfit carefully Mr. Bond...

Spenser, if you're watching this, please feel free to use the reference here.

OK, I made this poll for Connery Bond villains only -- I find them the most memorable, and we only have 2 (Dr. No and Oddjob) from the SS line.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Max Von Sydow version) - Bond's ultimate enemy.

Wor-Gar said:
I can't remember any Dalton or Brosnan villains.

Electra King (Sophie Marceau) - Argueably one of Bond's most dangerous villains and the first woman to be the main villain.

I'm definitely down for a good head sculpt of Goldfinger. I'm not sure if I need a complete figure...have to wait and see. I'm leaning toward either the gold tux or the Ft. Knox uniform & overcoat at the moment. Probably need to fabricate a "fat suit" for him, as previously suggested, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. If this all comes together and works out well, then maybe Grant and Blofeld could be done in the future. Btw, which version of Blofeld would that be, Charles Gray from DAF, or Donald Pleasence YOLT??? :D

I think that honor goes to Rosa Klebb (FRWL).

The poll was for the first Blofeld, Pleasance -- much more visually interesting and about as opposite from Connery as a nemesis could be.

I mentioned that I didn't want to split the vote by adding Charles Gay... I mean, Gray.

:D
