That's as crazy as someone painting waterlilies over and over and over! What are they thinking, amirite?

I have no idea what Bowen is think. maybe he likes his statues to look like that. Its sad really. Collectors expect more than that more from them. I mean $170 to $200 for a reused pose? Come on.

BD's prices have gone up to almost SS level for the same 1/6 scale :lol

$200 for this, really?

Lots of bowen hate 'round here. Not super unwarranted, but still.

Its not hate, its disappointment.

Disappointment is right. I was excited when the new Emma statues where announced but, then the price.$180!? For a 1/7 scale statue? :sick No thanks. I'll stick with the AH ladies.

Fair enough. :)

Agreed, would be nice if at least the quality matched the price.

Atleast do something with about the poses and facial expression. Most of the statues have a blank look on their faces.

Yeah $180 for the Emma isnt right. Ebaying it when it comes out (maybe).

I am glad to see more female characters being done.

I like a lot of the Bowen statues that are coming out...I just can't justify spending the amount they are asking! Really should be in the $120-$200 range, not $180-$300!

Whether or not the "disappointment" or the "hate" is warranted doesn't really matter. That fact of the matter is that it's there, it's growing, and it certainly didn't appear out of nowhere. A number of things happened over the years which seemed to really turn off a faction of the fanbase. There were numerous opportunities for BD to turn things around too.

In virtually every case, it appeared as if it chose to prioritize its own bottom line over its long term rep. While that isn't illegal, it's definitely not going to win anyone any popularity contests nor is it going to inspire much product loyalty. Sadly, it's more likely going to invite further derision and ridicule. At least in part, that might explain why we're seeing more statues and busts with edition runs in the mid three digits, as well a generally poor secondary market place.

I'd like to think that BD could turn things around and once again be the major player it once was. However, that would certainly require a change in management and company mandate. Sadly, some owners seem destined to go down with the ship as opposed to reaching out for help or admitting that they might not know everything.

All this to say that I don't think the fanbase suddenly went broke. They're just taking their money somewhere else.
That, my dear friends, is how people best express their "disappointment".

Obviously times are changing....Bowen needs to adapt or get a smaller shares of the market. They can keep the classic characters and still attain the detail and dynamic poses that people want now a days.

I dont think collectors are demanding dynamic poses, I think we just dont want to see the same pose for each statue. Standard standing pose with with no facial expression didnt cut it then and it shouldnt now.

At the end of the day, people want their money's worth. If they feel they're getting it, they'll stay. If not, they'll go elsewhere.

Yea, I haven't bought a single Bowen ever!!! Only thing I liked from Bowen is the Red Hulk; at least its better than Koto Rulk. But if I add about $50 more I can get a premium format from SS, which are way better. Heck, Ninja Turtles are better and cheaper.
