That is the part where it starts to fall down for Hank. However, we the viewer knows damn well he didn't take the money knowingly. We know he would never have took that money. We know it was Marie that really screwed him over there, yet we still character assassinate Hank. I think the guy is getting a raw deal is all I am saying. I don't think he did anything earth shatteringly bad.

Sure, he did some of his own investigatory work, which yes, would have blown the case, but he was working alone. He was constantly working on suspicion and without the support of the department. Hank was consistently coming up ideas, thinking outside of the box. I just think he is getting a raw deal imo.

Hank broke the law...the same law he swore to uphold. That is more than enough for him to get fired.

In the end, Walt and Hank are two sides of the same coin in the denomination of hubris.

Walt has to be the best meth cook and make the most money no matter the cost.
Hank is Ahab and has to get his big, white whale (Heisenberg) and will do so by any means.

Well at least Hank lives on in Under the Dome....although I want his character to die there. :monkey1

Hank did alright in my book. I'd hardly say he "broke bad".

When he was going after Gustavo Fring, he hardly did it "by the book" and he was commended for his actions. He didn't have a warrant or anything with the tracking devices he'd put on cars. In those instances, ASAC Merkert and Gomie didn't seem to have a problem with how Hank approached his brilliant hunches and investigations.

The only thing that was nasty on Hank's part was having little to no regard for Jesse's life to catch Walt. He was willing to let Jesse die for that to happen, and in a way, almost seemed to want it to happen. That and breaking Jesse's face in was dirty, trying to catch Walt? I don't see the problem.

Was it about ego? Sure, but Hank is clearly a protagonist and a righteous and honorable man. By catching Walt, he knew his days at the DEA would have been done anyway by association alone. He straight up says this. He wanted to catch Walt with proof then get fired and help Marie, Skylar, Walt Jr. and Holly. Being vengeful towards Walt, someone that has betrayed his entire family, and not playing by the book his hardly unforgivable or disgraceful. Nobody in this show is perfect though.

:lecture

That's my take on it anyways :duff

But he still would get fired from the DEA for wasting money trying to catch someone who was literally right in front of him the whole time.

Re: No love for Breaking Bad?

I just really hate Meth Damon and his stupid emotionless face now.
Walt better pop a few armor piercing rounds into that massive forehead.

So prediction jessie gets away with everything in the end money in hand.
What I don't get about people saying this (Jesse lives happily ever after with a bunch of meth money) is a) what leads you to believe that Jesse is just going to be able to get over not only the stuff that's happened previously but also now being partially responsible for Hank and Gomie's death, being tortured by one of the people he hates most in the world (Todd), plus having to cook with him under pain of punishment befalling Andrea and Brock, knowing Jane didn't have to die... Guy's already pretty much suffering PTSD and stuff just got worse for him, and b) the show has clearly established that Jesse does not want the money. He considers it blood money, so he's hardly going to feel awesome about taking ten mill and living large, knowing where the money came from. If Jesse survives, it won't be a happy ending. Kinda surprised anyone thinks this way, given Jesse's own complicity in many of the crimes.

Best thing for jesse wouldve been Alaska.

Think about it! The new show from AMC: Alaska, *****!

So what do you guys think is more likely for future Walt, came back to save Jesse or to finish him off himself? Both? Would Walter feel bad about him being tortured and just want him dead right away and would he go that far for that? Or maybe just kill Todd so his legacy and recipe die with him?

Excellent post. And I didn't even realize how much Jesse hates Todd. good call....

Yeah I don't see a happy end for Jesse, he might be alive at the end, but too much has happened to him.

this, this shot, I loved it and I hated it. I don't see Heisenberg, I only see Walt, the dumb, naive Walt.

AMC's "Breaking Bad" drew a massive 6.4 million viewers Sunday, the best audience in series history.
