Are you kidding me? Did you skip over a couple of seasons or something?

You don't think ordering the hit on 9 of them prisoners warrants Hank taking him down the way he does?

He knows Walt was responsible for the phone call he received about Marie's tragic accident, leading him away from the RV. That was a dirt *****king trick.

He also knows Walt was in some way responsible for the killing of Gail.

He would also be smart to think that he was responsible for the attack on him by the twins.

What more do you need out of curiosity?

I mean in the manner Hank is going about what he's doing. There is no inherrant danger. No one else is at risk atm from Walter. Until Hank dangles Jesse under his nose a few times that is. Thats his actual plan btw, Walter kills Jesse, and hooray I win. And I only had to throw this kid to his death. He could have gone to his own agency and told them the truth and gotten a whole division of the DEA to properly work the evidance against Walt(especially if he had everything you claim he did). Except what? Hank would have had to admit he found out illegally wouldn't he? And than he'd lose his job why? Because he's not mr.morales and the picture of a stand up guy. He's just a liar with a vendetta who may or may not have taken alot of blood money. Maybe over in the UK you find out a guy is a liar who creates fake evidence and tries to get people killed as a hero, but here in the US we call that a mistrial. If you gotta resort to being a criminal to take down the criminals you aren't a hero or good guy, you're just another criminal. It's why Batman doesn't kill people but its also why he can't walk into a courtroom and testify against a bad guy he captures.

I think it was more about reputation; "the biggest Meth Kingpin in New Mexico was having dinner with you for years, and you couldn't see it?"

Exactly my point, they had a dinner on occasion. Why would anybody suspect based on that kind of relationship?

Hank and Marie took meth money from Walt and Skylar.

And the family association between Hank and Walt is enough. Hank has been hunting Heisenberg for years while he's been right under his nose. It just smells of a cover up to everyone outside the viewers.

That is the part where it starts to fall down for Hank. However, we the viewer know damn well he didn't take the money knowingly. We know he would never have took that money. We know it was Marie that really screwed him over there, yet we still character assassinate Hank. I think the guy is getting a raw deal is all I am saying. I don't think he did anything earth shatteringly bad.

Sure, he did some of his own investigatory work, which yes, would have blown the case, but he was working alone. He was constantly working on suspicion and without the support of the department. Hank was consistently coming up with ideas, thinking outside of the box. I just think he is getting a raw deal imo.

Because he's wasted thousands of dollars on hunting this guy, only to find out he was standing right next to him. That doesn't look good to anyone. Ever. If Hank told anyone that, his job would be gone. Immediately.

Something must of brought him out of hiding, and I think he's going on a suicide mission since he doesn't have much time left anyway.

i think he's going to put the poison in a batch of the drugs, thus taking out the gang, and anyone that could possibly harm his family, including him

It doesn't matter what we know. It only matters what the characters know. Jesse doesn't know Walt wasn't going to kill him in that square or we wouldn't even be here.

Again Teddy heres your scenario. The nazis don't show up and Hank takes Walt in. Now what?

How did you know he was Heisenberg? "I put an illegal tracer on his car and he confronted me about it in my garage with no witnesses"

How did you apprehend him? "we used a non arrested, non lawyered up convicted fellon that has a vendetta to settle with Walt and a past of being a liar who I also once assaulted. We lied to a black guy and convinced him Jesse had been murdered by Walter to find his money and conducted an operation without permission using goverment resources and department personnel"

Well guess what? Saul's here and Walts going home because Hank broke the law alot.

Or option 2 : Hank lies to the government, to lawyers, to his own boss and co-workers and to a jury to keep Walter behind bars.

Thats ok and not breaking bad?

They put the ****ing guy in charge of the people who catch drug dealers and he didn't know his brother in law was the biggest guy they were after who tryed to kill him several times. He'd be the most incompetent cop in the country on television etc, some clown wasted millions and years and it was his own family. Oh and he has money he took from him? Forget it, the way the media works here in the U.S. Hank would be done like dinner.

Does that make sense to you? That doesn't make any sense to me!

If that is the case, there would be no wrong doing in the world. You going to blame all the people associated with killers, rapists, terrosists etc because they rubbed shoulders on occasion?

It makes perfect sense to me, because that's what happens. Welcome to America.

And he didn't rub shoulders on occasion. They were family. Brother in laws. They spent countless times together, and Hank even had Walt come with him on various stakeouts.

To me Hank is just being Hank. Hank is ego driven throughout the show. His job is about ego. When he had trouble rehabbing after the shooting, it was ego. In the end, it was ego that got him killed. If he had called for back up instead of Marie, he may still be alive.
Walt is also driven by ego. He had to make the best product. He wanted an empire. He had eighty million dollars. I would have quit at 10 million. Both are hubris to the point of failure.

So even if Hank took Walt in, Walt could have walked?
What proof did Hank had anyway? besides the money and Jesse's testimony?

Exactamundo. They let their vices and egos(the bad parts) get the better of them and cause their own demises.

The money was found by illegal means and couldn't be used in court so he had nothing in effect. Maybe get the IRS to come after Walt.

So Hank had absolutely nothing then? no proof? This makes everything even sadder.

Hank's ego totally got him killed then.

What did Hank have? A confession on the phone? He'd have to prove without any doubt that is definately Walter's voice(nearly impossible especially because you don't have proper agents and oversight monitoring the call and its origin etc). You don't even have a right to put that call into evidence because you didn't have a warrant. And then you have the issue that the person he's talking to is delusional, a convicted felon, meth addict who's claiming to do something he's not actually doing. (pretending to burn money)

You can't link the money in the barrels to Walt because you already lied to Huell to find them in the first place and he's not going to keep helping you, he's going to sue your department, probably for free since he works for Saul.

And even still there would be zero proof of where the money came from. Simply finding the money doesn't mean you can convince a jury it came from selling drugsl. He'd still have zero evidance Walt participated in any murder or cook ever.

I mean, I know it seems obvious, but when you read it spelled out like that.... What was Hank thinking????

That is the difference, I don't see a lot of it as an ego boost with Hank. I see it as drive and desire to capture the b***ard! I agree some of his tactics are dirty but it was all about bringing Walt in.

I am not sure what Hank had planned once he got Walt in custody, but Gomez didn't seem worried :dunno

Once Walt was in the car, surely Gomez would have been talking to Hank about how they were going to play it out?

There didn't seem to be any worries or issues. They both looked like they were in control of the situation once Walt was arrested. They didn't strike me as two guys now worried how they were going to explain it all away :dunno
