Excellent post, galmando. Though Hank already knew he was dead, hense the reason he refused to beg for his life. If that's the scene you were referring to. Hank was an excellent character. He treated Walt like a brother even though their relationship was through marriage. I have 3 brother in laws and there's not one of them I wouldn't smack upside the head.

Personally I thought the show was extremely well written. It ended near perfect and as expected. The airplane crashing just over Walts house was karmas way of showing him the results of his actions. Excellent metaphor.

Lejuan, good points as well. I just didn't care much for her entire involvement with Ted. I lost a lot of respect for her during that.

Thanks for pointing that out Invictus - you're right, Gilligan's idea of karma isn't especially well conveyed in Walt's 'noble death'. And what of Skyler? And Walt Jnr? No dignity there, just tragedy. Jesse could have, and probably reasonably should have, died... but I admit to doing a mental fist pump at his final scene :)
Agreed on Jesse, but think how much more he suffered than Walt. He woke up to find Jane dead, later goes through Brock's poisoning, then beating and enslavement with the neo-Nazis and finally being forced to watch Andrea get shot in the head. And in each case, directly because of Walt.

In comparison, Walt suffered hardly at all. I know everyone says he lost his family, but he was dead anyway and he got the money to them. That's really all he cared about at that point. I don't think dying at home with a happy family would mean more to Walt than getting one last Heisenberg ego-boost out of outsmarting the Neo-Nazis and going out on his terms. Obviously I'm in the minority on this, though, so I stop belabouring it. Main thing is that I do 100% agree about Jesse. It would've been a bit nihilistic had they killed him after everything he went through.

You're not in the minority. Jesse needn't die at all. Just like you said, he suffered a ton during his new relationship with Walt. Let's not forget his troubled past with his lame *** parents. I understood his parents strategy and frustrations but they still ultimately failed helping him out. Jesse had a great heart. He was just too dumb at times.

Absolutely, as you and Invictus point out, he'd suffered as much as anyone on the show - Walt's act of redemption in no way balanced the ledger between them. When I say he "could have and probably reasonably should have died" I was speaking purely from the point of view of the odds of his survival given the circumstances he found himself in with the white supremacists at the show's end. A lot of people I speak with about the show found Jesse irritating, but he was a favourite of mine - along with Hank, I love that guy.

Who beat him? I didn't watch...My sister text me and told me BRBa & BC had won.

Jon Voight for "Ray Donovan." To be fair, after seeing the pilot, that's a show that I really want to check out, but I think Paul did some of his best work this season and it would've been a nice "last hurrah," so to speak.

I saw both series. And although Ray Donovan is a fine series, and conversely Voight gave a worthy performance... Breaking Bad should HAVE swept every award in every category.

It would've been cool to see Paul win a Golden Globe as well but, he already has 2 Emmys, and those are the more prestigious award for Television acting

saw the finale yesterday.. GREAT Show... one of the best I ever saw..... it fits meatless next to Lost (ok..finale sucked) and 6 feet under for the best series I saw so far
