I love how most Canadian fans root against the US in hockey, whoever they play. I notice this more than ever lately. Fron the U17's to the men. Really funny. I guess we're "the evil empire". Maybe it's just not hockey......

I dont root against them, just dont think Burke picked a good team, and they dont even have a top 5 team, based on the talent.

Talent wise its Canada/Russia/Sweden/Czech/ then a toss up for USA Finland and Slovakia

My take on it is this. They see the US gaining in the Hockey arena and they don't like it. I mean the US is beating Canada more than it ever has...and I think it bothers you.

I dont think the US is catching up at all, Canada had a disasstrous last Olympics, based on the piss poor selection of the team, and the US at the youth age is making great strides. But they are no where near Canada or Russian, Canada left guys like Mike Green and Jeff Carter off the team, they could have made a whole second team that would have faired well.

Whats Canada's total 5? I have a bet with my wife that we wont break 20.

This is what I am talking about. The US is beating Canada more and more at these levels of hockey and it can't help but translate in the future at the NHL level. They stated during the US mens game that there are just as many kids playing hockey in the US as Canada now. And that is new. So I think the US is catching up. The woman have already pretty much caught up.

The majority of our medals should come (according to the "experts") in the last week of the games as the schedule goes... Too many chicken littles at the beginning wringing their hands.

Looking forward to seeing how the team (hockey) looks tonight against Norway.

There are those redneck Tim Horton's coffee shop dwelling canucks with grade 6 level education that are like that, they would cheer any team but the US and have very broken and vague reasons for it as well, make generalized statements about the US people as a whole.These sorts of people exist in every country though.

I think the US team is better then Czech for sure and could give Sweden a run for their money...ahh hell, Ryan Miller can shut down any one on Canada so, i guess we will just have to wait and see.

I agree....BUT...isn't hockey THE MAIN EVENT in these games for Canadians? Isn't that a must win event? I heard someone from your country say they would trade every event for a Hockey Gold.

I saw the funniest thing on the news tonight, apparently last week NBC had a segment where a bunch of NBC nobs, Meredith from Millionaire was one of them, were guessing who would light the torch for Canada.
