Oh believe me, it had nothing to do with PETA. He claimed he did it because he feared for the safety of the other skaters. He was afraid someone would try and hurt him and another skater might get hurt. BS.......just another attention grabber.

Honestly, I didn't like the fur thing because of the type of fur it was, but I didn't like him waaaaay before that. :lol

Orange glow tan is the official California tan. YUCK!

I heard it was this outfit. Fox fur, is it?

Well, a woman won the snowboarding cross event, which was invented in BC of all places, and we took a Silver by our men's.

Woohoo!

Anyway, I love how the Australians try to cheapen the French-Canadian's Gold medal in skiing, saying their Aussie should have won, even though he's a Canadian who defected to Australia.. one Dale-Begg Smith.

So either way a Canadian won it. Really sucks we lost Dale-Begg Smith, who is amazing in his own right, a self-made millionaire as a child, and now a multi-Olympic medalist... stupid Canada wants their athletes to be dirt poor to compete for them. Ugh! If not for a stupid Canadian Olympic rule, we would have had as many medals as the USA in the last Olympics and 6 this year instead of 5. Well, we're still doing great for a country of 34 million, and one that doesn't put money into their athletes like other countries. :)

Quit your f'n whining Eli! Its old........if this, if that. Lame. Countries SHOULD put money into their athletes. Countries that don't, have no one to blame but themelves when an athlete leaves.....

you know what i hate is during the summer olympics especially when the US of all places has to get some defector in from china or where ever to play table tennis or something. its like 400 million people and not one of our own is good enough to compete?

That is why we are the melting pot, no?

Yeah, he has the worst costumes. The costume was done and he had it's designer go out and get the fur to put on it. It was all done to cause a stir. He purposely made sure the press knew it was fox fur. I mean.....look at that thing! Why did it need that fur on it? :lol

USA'a Shaun White in his first qualifying run scored a 45.8 out of a possible 50! by FAR the best.......:D

EDIT......and USA's Louie Vito is second......

own the podium.

well.....i don't know. I mean some guy that leaves his home country like the year before and gets a rush job on his citizenship just so he can compete for us in the olympics and probably doesn't even train with an American coach...that doesn't really give me the same pride as would someone who lived in America most of their life and was a product of our system. Its like we bought a ringer.

Most definitely, which is interesting because I would be curious as to who initiates that.

the association for the olympic atheletes probably does. they're the ones that also hire foreigners to coach our teams as if nobody from America is good enough to make the country proud. Winning is everything no body cares whether it was an actual American that did it.

I will give you your point that I would rather have it be an American who has been an American for a while win it but I am more fine with the coach not necessarily being American. Obvious the best would be a true American athlete and a true American coach but if you want the best coach might as well go out and get the best. We live in a global world now where we don't always have the best or the best available.
