Out of curiousity, would you guys score this figure well if it wasn't the first from a new company?

Well, after I got Buck out of the tray and disposed of the broken glass I found two more problems. I guess the impact that broke the bubble helmet also jammed the visor on the soft cap down into Buck's nose and gouged a chunk of paint off. Oh, and the left glove is separated from the gauntlet. It looks like it didn't get enough glue or something at the factory. Kinda crazy but neither the wooden box or the shipping carton showed any damage. I did notice at the time that the customs guys didn't bother taping the box back after they inspected it. I wonder if one of those guys jacked up my figure. I feel violated.

I hope the situation works out for you. I'm sure they will replace the figure for you, Steve seems like a real good guy.

That's a real shame and a pity. I know how you feel. I bet this will put a shadow over Steve's baby.

Mine arrived. The postie knocked at 6 p.m. :horror 144 of 1000.

Removing the box from the packaging, I now have flakey styrofoam bits all over the place.

My Bucks helmet is in pieces inside as well. Yes, I have a paint rub, from the visor, on his nose as well.

Looking at the QC checklist it mentions:
"Foam wrapped Bubble Helmet"-ticked. There is no foam wrap
"Pilot Helmet-Not Buckled and Visor in Top Position"- ticked. Visor in front of face causing paint rub.
"Socks On"- ticked. I'm not even going to try to remove his boots to check.
"CoA (#Corresponds with Box) Double Check Wording" - ticked. No CoA provided.
"The Electronics Warranty for 6 Months from Purchase" - ticked. No warranty provided.

There's a sound device checklist, but I'll look at that later.

The outfit is nice, and all the leather looking pieces are a soft thin rubber. The hands are nicely sculpted. They aren't painted and the colour gives them a toy like appearance. I found the belt loops to be unevenly spaced. The bubble helmet wasn't totally smashed on mine, just a big hole in the front, with cracks leading out to the edge. I notice a fault in the mold near the spike. I found the joints, on the figure, to be on the loose but smooth moving side. Without adding the weight of the helmet and back pack, it is able to stand on its own and hold a pose, but with weight it will sink to the ground. The join from head to neck is ugly. I tried to move the visor up and it fell off. If it wasn't supposed to move there should never have been pics with it in the up position, or an instruction sheet included. Upon inspection it is a manufacturing fault. There's a swivel pinned to the visor arms but they put it on the wrong side for it to function as it should. There is an instruction sheet for the controls of the remote, unfortunately it doesn't explain where the sensor is on the figure, nor where to plug in the usb lead into the figure. The vest is a one piece mold and removing it doesn't look to be that easy. At this point I'm not going to for fear of it ripping.

The wooden box is great, but it has the crappy black plastic tray, with the dual clear covers, the same as Hot Toys uses. It'll tear or crack after a while no doubt. All over it's a great first figure, with many areas that can use improvements, but at a cost.

I'm going to go have dinner now and then write Steve an email to see what can be done about the broken helmets. It's too dark to be taking pics and I'm a little disappointed right now. It was a long day and I didn't get much sleep last night. Have a hot chocolate and crash. Tomorrow is a new day.

After the battle Steve has had getting these things into collectors grubby mitts I'm sure he'll be pretty pissed off that the contents didn't make it to you unblemished.

But I guess the cost of using real metal and glass is that they are supremely fragile, hope this isn't gonna turn into a big problem and the breakages turn out to be reasonably isolated, but for anything glass, die-cut foam has to be the way forward. However the cost might be prohibitive?

Live and learn. Next time pyrex might be in order.

I found the usb port, I think. It's in the left side of the body above the waist. It's a real pain to get to because of the one piece molded rubber vest. Not very practical. I can see it stressing the rubber over time.

So the bubbles are real glass?

Sucks about those issues Creecher. Hope Perseus doesn't have as many.

I don't feel bad right now, thanks for your empathy Evilface, I'm sure Steve will sort it out and would probably have measures in place to address these shipping traumas.

I'm having a bad run at the moment. I've got another two problems on the go as well. Then again. I've had a fairly good run until now. Comes with the territory.

dang that's sad to hear creecher. i was looking forward to seeing reviews by people. how much did you pay for yours? i was thinking of ordering one with my next sideshow order but for $175 i hate to read about these problems. i wonder if these will be fixed or if it's a done deal

have any of you guys tried the usb feature yet? there seems to be lots of varying problems from what i'm reading. i hope more people review these

Sad to hear the bad new about your figure Creecher. I hope it doesn't become a recurring issue. I should be receiving mine very soon and would hate to have broken pieces or failed QC problems.

I hate to hear how bad your figure turned out Creecher and I hope you can get it sorted out. I didn't get a COA with my figure either and Steve has said he was working on it. I was wondering about the visor myself and the only thing I can figure out is that you slide it out and fold the arms down and it sits pretty tightly on top of his head. It looks like you should be able to spin the brackets on the cowl but I was afraid I would break them.

In all fairness the quality control issues I mentioned, above, are not a major concern. I mean, a CoA. Do you really need one? Warranty. They've never done me much good, and claiming from a Chinese company. Well forged aboud id. Socks, I'm not going to remove the boots. Visor not in the right position. As far as I can tell it's not moveable in any case.

The main issue for me is the helmets. I wouldn't have broken the skull cap, had I known it's movement was non existent. I did cause a paint rub though, so some foam over the face would have helped. Foam around the space helmet may or may not have worked. If it had been made out of Pyrex it probably wouldn't have broken.

For a first release it's a good representation of the character. Some parts look to be as retrograde as the figure character itself, and the costume is similar to Medicom quality. Steve did a great job getting this together. It's not a bad figure. I'm just reporting what I see and how I feel about it. It has room for improvements. I would have liked less rubber and more pleather. Oh, and much tighter joints.

I haven't bothered investigating the electronic side of it, other than to turn on his rockets, and the light is a quite strong and delightful red. One of the clear plastic flames I found loose in the box, but it was nothing to push it back into its socket. The usb is not a feature I intend to use that much, if at all. I'll just make sure it works when Steve has more information online, which he mentioned would be soon.

Mine cost me around A$260 shipped, or around US$200. The wooden box is nice. It's cheap wood. Probably cheaper than cardboard and printing. Reminds me of those boxes wine bottles come in.

I managed to fix the skull cap and visor. Woo hoo. So now it's just the replacement bubble helmet I'm needing. At the moment it's looking too much like Kain without the face hugger. :lol

Sorry to hear about your issues guys. Things like this can always happen, but as long as they get solved, it's half as bad I think. So I hope Steve'll help everybody that has issues soon.

Looks like I still have to wait a little longer: my tracking still says, you'll never guess...: SHANGHAI!

You'll probably get it Friday then. Once it gets out of Shanghai it's practically on your doorstep. Otherwise you'll have to wait till Monday. Good luck with your helmets guys.

Another thing, this figure is 31cm tall which makes it almost 12 1/2 inches tall.

Here's a comparison shot.

Other than the shipping/QC problems you guys had, it looks like a fantastic figure! It's a little out of my price range, unfortunately. But if I had the money, I would get it in a heartbeat!

Hurrm. Now I keep oscillating between impatience and dread in waiting for my Buck.... Mine still says Shanghai too and so far we've had two problem figures and one perfect figure... Anticipation and dread all at once!!:duh

Still in Shanghai for me as well... bummer to hear about the bubble breaking. Ambitious to make it out of glass, but I hope it doesn't become a recurrent issue and headache for collectors and GoHero.

Well, mine is "inbound out of customs" in San Francisco. I live in LA so I should be getting it very soon. I'll let you guys know how things turn out.

Maybe yours will arrive all in one piece I am feeling in the minority here. I do agree that there should have been some kind of padding around the glass helmet and like Galactiboy said I hope this does not become an issue with these figures so more people will pick them up on down the line.
