In an effort to keep this thread alive )), I was just at Wal-Mart and they had a two-pack of DVD box sets, one of which was Buffy Season 1 packaged with Angel Season 1. And the best part is that is only costs $20. (For BOTH seasons.)

So for any of you new to the Whedonverse, this would be a great opportunity to start...

Yes, these were in a new styled casing, but I don't think each season was six discs. I own the "1st Edition" thick packs (which only had three discs,) then they came out with a "slim" pack, but then these are ultra-thin cases. I'd say maybe 3 discs per season, but probably less considering the 12 episode run from the 1st season of Buffy. The cases are clear like (if my memory serves correctly.) But the two seasons are definitely together in the same package. A really great deal IMO. I was almost thinking of buying them for Christmas gifts to people!!

As much as I love the dramatic moments it's the comedy that I find most memorable. Just watched an ep the other night. Spike, obsessed with Buffy at this point, waits outside her house smoking cigarettes. She comes out suddenly and immediately punches him in the face followed by -

B: What are you doing here?
S: (holding his nose) I was just -
B: Five words or less.
S (ticking the words off on his fingers) Going. For. A. Walk. (pause) ^^^^^.

I've introduced my fincee to Buffy and she's working through the series. We're about halfway through season 6 right now. This show never gets old for me.

EDIT: The above excerpt would be funnier if the censor-bot didn't block the female dog word. I mean the ^^^^^^ ^^^ word.

One more update for the new Angel fans: Target now carries a two-pack with Angel Season 1 and Season 2 for $19.99.

But wait, that's not all....

They also carry a two-pack for Angel Season 3 and Season 4 for the price of....you guessed it, $19.99!
