No hurry, just want them to look "right" when they're done.
Thanks!!

I was just wondering what armour is it that you want to paint... is it the HT or the EVA armour kit by Chris? Either way I think I can help you to make sure it looks right. First thing you'll need to do is get the correct colors for it, if you haven't already. I'm planning to use Humbrol enamels, which Chris recommended, but a good brand of acylic colors could also be mixed to match the "official" USCM colors. (If you want a list of the Humbrol colors, just let me know). :D

Well...thats another story. I have more marines than any one type of armor. I'll be attempting it on Eva armor for sure. I also may try it on some HT and some makeshift armor that is more rubbery than the others. A list of colors would definitely help. I have no knowledge of enamels as I've only just begun working with acrylics.

Don't suppose anyone has an extra set of Chris' lock-set for Hicks, or knows where I could find a suitable 'trunk lock' in 1/6 that I could use for Hicks. Mine broke off and was lost forever...:angelsmil

The good thing about the enamel colors is that you can pretty much use them right out of the tin. The downside is that they require thinner, for cleanup at the very least. They'll work on the HT and EVA resin armour (with maybe a light coat of surfacer underneath), but I'd definitely stick with the acylics for anything else.

Here's a list of the Humbrol enamel colors for reference:

#30 Matte Dark Green
#33 Matte Black
(#34 Matte White - for tinting)
#63 Matte Sand
#98 Matte Chocolate
#147 Matte Light Grey
#160 Matte German Camo Red-Brown

2 questions. 1 is there anywhere to purchase any of Chris' custom items after his unfortunate and untimely passing? Specifically the patches? Secondly does anyone have any incling as to whether or not we will ever see anymore 1/6 Aliens characters from Hot Toys?

If you go all the way back to post #716 you'll see that those patches were posted for use.

I like this thread, very informative.
HOWEVER.... Starting very soon probably not this weekend now coming but next, I will be selling my entire collection of Aliens Hot Toys figures. Up for grabs will be: -

Pvt. Hudson with Chris Chulamanis' replacement headsculpt.
Master Sargeant Apone. (repainted headsculpt).
Pvt. Drake. (repainted headsculpt).
Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley. (repainted headsculpt, with Leather Jacket).
Warror Alien (blue version).

If you go to a specialist computer print supplier you should be able to get sheets of sticky backed fabric, it has a kind of silky finish, but for this scale should work fine. Failing that a high street digital print shop should have a solution if you supply them with the fabric.

awesome. Thanks. I'll have to sort something out next time I head to town.
Time to be embarassed with friends again when I go into a shop to get a badge for one of my barbies. :monkey2:rotfl

Probably a dumb question but what is one to do with the long green strings hanging from Hudson's pistol holster? Most pics I've seen of ppls Marines it is not present. Is it to be tied somewhere or do you guys just cut it off?

They would be used to secure the holster to the leg, but I don't recall Hudson carrying a side-arm.
