Well being a 6 foot 4 inch man, at about 220 lbs I have had more then my fair share of tinny people take a shot at me. Little person syndrome is insane. I have NEVER done anything that like that dude did. Even though I could. I have restrained people after they punched me in the face, after they tried to stab me, and helll one tried to hit me with a car. I never started it, and I never ended it like this idiot did. I put them down, but I didn't have to BEAT them to do it.

Well, at least you're confident in your own strength, and have the resolve to keep your cool under pressure - that's good. But, size isn't everything. Even a smaller person could do a lot of harm if you don't take the appropriate measures to defend yourself. That bus driver clearly felt the need to uppercut that woman - essentially throwing her "I'm a female, so I can hit him, but he can't hit me" logic out of the window. Case in point: she was violent, out of control, and needed to be put down like a rabid dog (or thrown out of the bus with her face to the curb).

LOL... The punch in the face was from a guy who was sexual groping a a friend of mine, I will admit I put him down a little a harder then I wanted to. The stabbing attempt was when I steped between a friend of mine and a guy who was harassing my buddies little sister. The car is an interesting one. They guy was mad at me because I got the last copy of Stars Wars Episode I on sale at BlockBuster ... so he came at me with his car when I came out. Pulled him out when he put it in park when he realized he hit a car.

As for being in control ... well I HAVE to be. Simply put I am able to do a fair amount of damage if I choose JUST by the function of my size. However, even when threatened I hold it back. Trust me it isn't always easy.

As for this guy being threatened. He wasn't defending himself when he got out of his seat and hit her. That was aggression. He didn't hit her when she was in the process of hitting him... and that is the difference between an assault and self defense. They are BOTH guilty here, and he will probably pay dearly for his lack of judgement.

Flawed logic. The dude in the vid is actually shorter than she is. Who gives a **** if you're a big ol' tree trunk?! As I said in my post, I'd restrain her and physically throw her off the bus (admittedly with enough force to clear her mind), but that's because I have the physical ability to do so. This short, old man clearly didn't.

What if she had a disease? That spit IMO is a form of a weapon. Try spitting on a cop if you don't believe me.

He should have tossed her ass off the bus. No reason should he have to be spat on and hit more just to wait 40 minutes for the police to show up.

Depends on the cop. That said I feel confident in saying he would have been right to toss her ass out the door.

It does depend on the cop. And he definitely would have been justified throwing her ass out. I think if he wanted satisfaction, a backhand would have sufficed. I'm still not fully convinced that self-defense demanded knocking her out.

Demanded? No. Deserved? Absolutely.

Assault and battery laws do not recognize people 'asking for it' as exemptions from prosecution. You have the right to defend yourself when you are threatened. When the threat is not imminent, self-defense is not a justification for retaliation.
