Wow bro... that is really coming along nicely! Very impressive work and the details on his clothing are fantastic.

And the cool thing is even though the body is a bit odd... all the work you put into this can easily transfer to a better body if one ever comes along.

Worked a bit more on his hair and started on his headband. The end is in sight... :banana

looking good..........but if i may suggest.......try putting a tighter band around the head & hair to pull it in a bit as in a piece of leather or something that would pull the hair closer. i assume thats a sculpting clay band around the head? its making the head a bit bulky looking but overall the figure is looking great.

This ROCKS big time.

Only thing I would suggest with the hair is to maybe chip in on the length a little so that it looks uneven. if you know what I mean. so that it doesnt look like someones jsut took scissors in a straight line.

Hope that makes sense.

He is coming along FANTASTICALLY though. I really love it.

DUDE! That's AWESOME!
I too know so well the feeling of satisfaction from producing a custom CONAN, but this one really captures his physique and attitude! You really are making a classic custom here!

Loving this. Great job! Incredible!
Diggin' the real hair too! :rock

Again thank you so much for your kind words, guys, it really means a lot! Since I've never done anything like this before and this is my first real custom, it's just a bit of trial and error, but it's encouragement and advice like this that helps me finish it and be happy with what I made.:bow

I will sure take all your advice into account (give him a better haircut, try making his head look less bulky etc).
I hope I'll be able to get some work asap, but after I get home from work, I have to help my girlfriend with her university-assignments (graphic design).

So, if everything goes well, I'll try to finish Conan this weekend. Then all that's left are some finishing touches, making a customised stand for him and waiting for his sword to arrive so he can kick some Thulsa Doom-ass! :joy

i have no doubts you will make him kick ass even more...........just keep tweaking him and he will be perfect. you definately should be proud of him. he is awesome :rock:rock:rock

Got to say when i first saw you putting this together i was a little doubtful that it could be done so well but damn he looks freaking amazing!

Dude, your Conan is really coming along. It's nice to see such an awesome custom of one of my all-time favorite characters! Can't wait to see the finished product, and I'm sure you'll get the hair worked out, you definitely have the skills.

Gotta say though, the first thing I thought of when I saw this pic was "Bruce Dickenson on Roids! :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I know, Conan could start an 80's rockband anyday :D

Another small update: gave his hair a bit of a haircut, painted the headband and tried to make the head a bit smaller/headband tighter (it's still a bit too big too be completely natural, but the combination of this head and the wig I used isn't the best choice apparently).

Now I'll have to wait for the sword to arrive and prepare his custom base. And I've also started on another Conan: war-paint version :rock

Just Know that paint won't stay on the arms or legs of the figure very well. I tried painting my Grundy arms and legs, but it flakes off as soon as you move the joints.

Yeah I know, I tried painting this Conan as well, but it didn't hold either.
But since the war paint is all black, I thought I'd use a permanent black marker. I just tried it, and it seems to hold just fine (for now). And I'll probably keep him in one pose, so there won't be much friction on the joints...

Usually with the rubber bodies you can get some color to leech into them over time. I think magic marker would work really well for the black parts... but you'd probably want to wipe some of to get that imperfect look.

I think there might also be white paint markers that could work as well. But you'd probably have to leave them sit for a while... maybe lightly sanding the body a bit first would help as well.

Looks great, but was wondering if some hair gel or spray could be used to give the hair the unwashed clumped appearance? which is the only thing that bring this custom down IMO

I didn't really have much time the past weeks to get more work done on my war-paint Conan, but the Atlantean sword I ordered for my first Conan did arrive, and looks awesome!

Now all that remains is some work on the base and my very first custom will be completely done. Not entirely satisfied with him, but he'll do until something better, offcial release comes along...

was wondering when we were gonna see more LV...........i like him....he looks outstanding & you are right..the sword looks kick ass. i remember from a few earlier post that you thought he didnt wear this outfit in the movie............that is actually the outfit from the first scenes of conan the destroyer.
