I think we will get the weathered look, because in this early prototype pic C-3PO has the magnetic bolt.

Also it will give sideshow more room for some paint flaws ^^

Combined PF, two characters together. Expensive for sure. I´m pretty curious about the base. The desert of Tatooine I guess. But R2-D2 have retractils legs so the statue must can separate of the base easily.

Premium format only means its mixed media. It can be all poly stone with a single tiny metal bolt, BOOM, premium format.

And, there have been other premium formats that have had a small amount of articulation.

I just hope they aren't offered together. It might sound blasphemous to some but I'm only really interested in Threepio as far as 1:4 pieces go. I'll get the duo in 1:6.

The word was that they were only going to be available together. I was interested, but only in R2.

If I had someone to split it with, I'd be in.

I really only wanted Threepio, I know they'll be awesome together though.

These are going to be pricey that's for sure.Can't wait for some more info and a look at these two.

Interesting that these are pretty much action figures (even though threepio's only articulated from the waist up.)

They are pretty much unique in terms of SSC's PF figures aren't they? I can't think of any PF that had anything actually articulated.

Yes it is interesting, and it comes to market around the same time Enterbay and HTs move into the 1/4 scale market..... I think mobility and not just switch-out parts are the future.. I may be wrong.... I'm not into PF statues, but I will get these guys since they are robots and mostly rigid to begin with.. plus they look awesome so far!!! Yeah SSC.

Actually according to SS Premium Format now only refers to the fact that the scale will be 1/4. As the following was found in the response to a Ask Sideshow question:

If your interest in Comiquettes is because of the all-sculpture style, then take heart. You’ll be seeing more stylized sculptures under the Premium Format banner, and labeled as such to keep consistency in scaling. With or without clothing, if they’re 1:4 scale, they’re Premium Format. There are a lot of factors driving this decision, including production costs, sales, and Ask Sideshow trends, but we are prioritizing Premium Format (1:4 scale) over most other sculpture formats.

Apparently the LSF Neytiri and Wolf Pred didn't get that memo.

Agreed, good eye for detail, totally missed that. Too bad, I really would've liked a shiny 3PO. Like some others have mentioned, though, maybe they'll do a set of those later on.

Weathered set first with a Tatooine base. Then medal ceremony clean versions with stone steps base as an SDCC exclusive.

Hey thanks man. I paid to stand in line like everybody else but I noticed he was selective in who he opened up to, kind of reminded me of the soup nazi. The two guys in front of me kept leaning on his elevated table (so he could stand) and he repeatedly asked them to back off. He signed their stuff without any additional chit chat.

When I got to Daniels he saw that I had picked a Tatooine picture for him to sign and he smiled and said that that was actually the first day of shooting in Tunisia and he described the direction George gave him that day.

I told him it was cool to meet him and hear the same voice I'd been so accustomed to from the movies my whole life and he kind of blushed (for lack of a better word) and said, "Such a desolate place this is."

I told him my name and he reached across to shake my hand and said "nice to meet you I'm Anthony." I turned and left and seriously almost got choked up! I know its a sappy story but whenever SW is on and 3PO says the "desolate place" line I'm instantly reminded of when he personally delivered it to me! Too cool.
