i think the damage actually adds to the realism of 3PO! Kind of looks like he's properly battle damaged!! I know you want a mint one but i still think it looks cool in the pics Dave!

If I remeber it correctly it's also the arm that was cut of when Luke and the 3PO were attacked by the sandpeople. Maybe SS left one of them broken as some kind of collectors easteregg

Just opened up both my droids and vader (both frakking awesome btw).

Quick question. Under artoo i noticed loose piece of metal plate inside. where ever it was glued it came off and all of the glue too. Can anyone with the statue comment whats it for and if i should go forward with a replacement?

Thats why these two were a no brainer for me. As a collector, its always a nice feeling when you can get to own a particular piece from a certain movie that you can say is the most definitive collectable out there for that specific character. Cant get more definitive than this PF...unless of course you have the R2 and 3PO life size 1:1 replicas!! and then your one lucky

That piece inside him rattles inside him and I guess that was the glue holding it in place.

the whole idea to glue on the inside some weights for R2 is anyway a pretty cheap idea to make them appear heavier and for that.. make it "feel" more expensive..

I don't think so. Can anyone check under there artoo? I'm trying figure out where it goes. I thought it was for something to do with his middle leg for adjusting it.
