Ok here's what I had

StoryStarWarsLP_zps9f92720c.jpg

I never had the Story of SW as a kid... I had Empire and Jedi. I use to put the record player on repeat and listen to them over and over at night. I now have them all (including SW) downloaded on a MP3 disc... And if I am really having trouble falling a sleep... I put that disc in and I am out in about 10 min. :) The disc has a ton of other story records from when I was a kid also. Indiana Jones and the TOD, and The Black Hole. But I also put the old POWER Records superhero stories on there. Batman, Hulk, Spidey... All those great (somewhat poorly acted) stories that I listen to at bed time... I can put anyone of them on and it will help me fall asleep LOL..

As far as the movie records go with the original dialogue and music from the film... Isn't it funny that that was how we use to watch movies over and over again... In our mind. Since there was no owning a film on tape or DVD yet. The only way to see a film that was not at the movies was on record. It's also what got me into film scores. It was a way I could see the film again in my mind.

I remember also when Star Wars first hit Showtime (or HBO I don't remember which) and I watched it at my friends house and I taped the whole thing on my cassette recorder. (It took up two tapes LOL) and I would listen to that night after night. I sort of miss those days :)

Thanks King...thought as much :) was trying to get both versions so I can have the best of both worlds...might wait for one to come up in eBay I guess :)

They're on eBay already, among other places. Prices range from reasonable to outrageous. I'm on the wait list as I'd like to get the points to go with it. Small consolation, but I figure why not give it a shot? On the other hand, part of me is thinking to just pull the trigger from a 3rd party vendor.

Yea, seen some on eBay but majority are US sellers. I live in London. I may hop on the wait list and see what happens :)

Wow! Awesome moment right there. :clap

I also have some great memories of Star Wars when I was a kid. :yess:

So I picked up one of these, and have to say this is the definitive piece of my SW collection. Really happy and excited about this one. Awesome work with the detail on C-3PO and the lights on R2 is really really great!

My only objection is how flimsy and lightweight the R2 piece is. The piece feels very fragile and like a toy model kit. The legs feel like they'll break easily! Great details, just a little cheap feeling. The articulation on certain parts of C-3PO feel a bit tight though, particularly the neck and torso. The neck moves, but it seems the torso doesn't have much movement (and I'm afraid to try and twist any more for fear of breaking something)

Overall, awesome awesome piece. Very happy. Little high of a price tag, but as we all know.... Anything is worth what you're willing to pay for it ;)

All of your objections with R2 have been echoed here as well. But as long as the droids don't break and last several decades, I'm fine with it.

Congrats on a great purchase. :hi5:

great looking photos. I dream of the day when sideshow will release those statues with wireless power and replaceable leds, to allow us to leave the statue on at all times, once the led breaks in 5-10 years, you can just take it out and replace it like a light bulb.

Wouldn't that be awesome, as much as i like those droids now, it makes me a little sad every time i look at it in "off" mode, same goes for ironman etc..

Mine arrived on Friday looks great but there was a piece of metal loose inside R2, it had glue on either corner but I have no idea where it came from, it's not the magnetic piece as the bolt still attaches? He also has a dead light in the top left corner of the rectangle light at the front, one of the tiny dots doesn't light up.
guy I bought it from basically said well it wasn't like the when I sent it didn't apologise or anything...

Will look great once Chewie starts shipping here, I'll snap some better photos once he does with my SLR rather than just my phone.
