In my mind, exclusives should be "nice to have" rather than "must have".

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but do you feel sometimes it may have been a better idea to have had the weathered Droids as the Exclusive and the shiny ones as the regular? Seems to be the popular version of the two...With that said, I still want to give the Exclusive some love because being shiny is how I personally like to remember them by...for years I've always admired the kotobukiya shiny version of the 2 droids together but wanted it in 1/4 scale...so the EX was a no brainer for me. Not sure how many of the Exclusive owners purchased it for the same reason or whether it was purely based on the low ES?

The ONLY reason at the time I considered adding the EX to my cart was because of the ES. I knew I wouldn't be happy with them though. I owned a vinyl record that had the weathered versions on it. I listened to it constantly.

I'm able to get the regs for a great price but man I'm torn...

I'm worried that this may be the one chance to own a piece like this but on the other hand I still get the feeling that SS are taking the piss with the materials used, for every person that loves this there's another that just isn't impressed with em at all.

Such a polarizing piece, you either love it or hate it. So the question is, this or mythos vader? What to do, what to do....

I think the majority love them.... I don't think many have sent them back... The biggest complaints I have heard are the plastic R2 comments... Otherwise I think most are happy.

Shiny is nice... I have said this before, I am glad I was late to the pre order. I would have gone nuts trying to decide between the two. Like you many of my memories were of the clean droids. This was due mostly to Posters and pictures from back in the 70's. In fact I hade a poster of them from the thrown room scene. That poster came from a cereal Box.

Anyways... Had the clean droids come on the same base I probably would have just picked them. But with them being on separate bases, like I said, I would have gone insane trying to choose. But I came in late. Got the dirty droids and I could not be much happier. Someone could come along and want to trade with me and tell me I could keep my single base for both of them and I would not do it. I love the dirty look. 3PO is much shinier looking in person and a dirty R2 is the only way to go IMO.

But you really can't go wrong either way.
