I'm happy with the original bust that I have.
Just because it's "slightly more shinier" isn't enough for me to buy it again.
Also if Sideshow is going to do this with all their busts,making so called improvements, maybe they should send the newer ones to the people who bought the originals.

Just doesn't make a lot of sense to re-tool something like that. Seems that it would canibalize the initial offering, or insult those that bought the initial offering. I just don't see a lot of people out there ordering both versions and those that do would seem to be in the minority.

Just don't get it.

Perhaps they are saving the big hitters for SDCC itself, but I must say that unless you're a Captain America fan the first few revelations are a little underwhelming at least for me. Here's to hoping we'll get SOMETHING SW related that we can oogle over before the show.

You called? I just found out about this version. Kind of a strange decision if you ask me. The difference is simply that the new one doesn't have the layer of grime that the old one had. But from what I could tell the bust version was pretty light on the weathering to begin with compared to the full 1:1 figure, so the difference may be hard to see, especially in pictures.

Just for the record, all versions of the C-3PO bust/figure are chromed -- not painted gold.

The lifesized figure is also chromed. It's just covered with a layer of weathering so it may not be immediately obvious. Trust me on this.
