Come and get me!

Pic of the scene that I'm going for with this Joker. Still the proto hat and I haven't dyed the hanky or tie yet but that's still gonna happen. The hat definitely needs to be made taller to accommodate his head though.

You know, if you had a bigger brim on there, it might balance out with the fact you can't get the round part tight to his head because of the molded hair. Try to keep the proportions of the hat matching the film hat, regardless of his head, and I think it'll still work. In the pictures you posted of Jack, the part his head goes in looks quite small compared to the entire hat, thing has a big brim.

Well I poured over the film today and this is almost as close as I'm gonna get it. This is my third try to balance fit and accuracy and I think it looks pretty good. Not perfect but "Coco Good".:D

I narrowed the sides of the top as much as the sculpt would allow and raised it a bit to allow room for his noggin. I also went with a 1/4'' black band that was a bit more to scale with the film hat as well as balanced out the taller top. I'll try the next one with a slightly larger brim as MF suggested.

I wish the pics captured it more but it looks much better in hand.

I present to you "The Two Jacks"... :lol

Wow. That hat is really looking the part. I think if you follow Maulfans advice and make the brim a tad bigger it will be a done deal. Thanks for taking us on the ride while you made it, and posting all the pics.

Very nice! I agree about the brim. It's a balancing act. Just add a millimeter or so to it. Not much. But the top of the hat looks great as you have it there.
And by the way, I used the Doc Holliday hat for my own figure, and had to remove some of the brim of that one, as it is very wide and with an edge roll to it, and also had to trim away a bit inside the opening of that hat interior, around the edges, to properly fit my Joker, so I understand the fitting trevails with any Joker head.

Truth is, my Joker head is sculpted as small as I dared, to keep some Joker hair look intact for hats off, and still allow for a hat to fit it reasonably. In truth, on film his hair is fuller, especially in the very front and back. But, I did make it as narrow as I reasonably could. Any narrower, and he'll have bad "hat hair". But that aside, you did a GREAT job with what you did Coco. Amazing actually. I think it looks great.

Awesome! Well done Cocoboloboy.

Thanks customfig, Les and all others for your praise and suggestions so far. I think I've got it now. The brim has been widened and it does indeed look more gangsterish :D.

It is now "Coco Perfect" :lol or as perfect as I'm gonna get it.

If there's enough interest I'll start an order thread for these hats.

Why don't you and the hat get a room? :lol Joking man, I LOVE it, definetly THE best Joker i've ever seen, great work man!

I loves me my Joker!!! I changed out the body, of course, and added a custom stand. Don't even ask how I got the head from Les so late in the game. You wouldn't believe me. There's plenty I'd like to tweak, including adding Playing Card cufflinks, dying the tie and hanky, and maybe even dying the pants to be more blue/purple, but for now, I'm extremely happy to finally have the Nicholson Joker on my shelf. He's definitely a "Never Sell." Especially since he represents my dear comrade's work. I know i said this to you before, Les, but even though you may have painted a hundred of these, to me he's unique. I'm honored, Les, truly.
