Well I am not stepping into the mess of those last couple posts. But I will say I have played for about one hour and I like Gears better. I am sure it will grow on me....I just helped save that Russian informant...so I really haven't gotten far. I've never been one that into war themed games (my dad is...he spends more time playing games than I do...in fact I think he's played this one 5 or 6 times already ) I love Gears because of the freaky creatures you kill and it's third person. And I just really love the story....I totally got caught up in it and for only having it a little over a week, I'm almost done playing it for the third time through. I am very impressed with the visuals on COD4 but sadly, first person shooters make me a bit dizzy. It will be interesting to see what the online experience is like.
By the way, I did switch to the tactical button option...thanks for that tip.

COD4 is actually a well made game. I just get tired of the ENDLESS camping, the extra 3 grenade perk along with martyr turned on making it so there are 400 grenades going off at all times along with having no cover system.

The reason I don't like it is there is no cover system. People tout it for being realistic in my eyes it is anything but. In real life people aren't sprinting all over the battle field and then respawning. LOL! They are running finding cover and then taking shots. That is why I keep bringing up R6 Vegas. Another good one that no one plays that I like is Ghost Recon. Much better than COd4 in my opinion. I enjoyed the single player game. I just don't find the multi player interesting.

Play Hardcore Search and Destroy. Increased bullet damage, no radar, and no respawning.

I have never played any of those other titles you mentioned. Honeslty, other than LOTR Battle for Middle Earth I never really bought any games that were non sports related until I started gaming with the Freaks. Halo 3 was the first one I picked up to game with you guys too.

Ghost Recon is great, the first game i bougt for my 360. Still havnt complete it, though Got RS: Vegas last october and have yet to start playing it.

How's Battle For Middle-Earth II for the 360? I'v played the first one on the PC a couple of times.

Personally I love it. I have been meaning to get some games with Kain in, but we always end up playing Gears due to so many people being on.

It's a strategic game, but one I really enjoy playing.

I'm not a fan of strategic games. I can appreciate why some people enjoy them, but I just don't like them. I'd rather be on the field killing and getting killed.

Generally I am the same way, but this game is a lot of fun since I like the characters so much. You can build pretty large forces and attack the bases or just play hit and run on their resources. It's a lot of fun once you get into it.

I also bought Command and Conquer 3 after hearing about it from Kain and it's pretty fun too.
