Got the call from GameStop to pick up my copy tomorrow (Monday) at 5 PM! :rock

Apparently the release date has been bumped up a day!!!

sweet! is that only for preorders or for regular purchases too?

I got the call because I pre-ordered. But I would assume they will get all the PO shipments and any extras at the same time. By the way I hear this is not going to be at every gamestop in the country....only certain large areas will be receiving their copies to sell today. So call your GS and check with them before heading out.

GOT MY COPY!!!!

I will probably play tonight! I'll be doing GoW and this one at the same time :D.

why isnt there a review out for this yet?

So fools buy it thinking since COD4 was sweet this will be too. It makes me a bit nervous that Gears 2 and R2 can get reviews out almost 2 weeks before they come out. But COD5 is out today and not one review has appeared...

Not a good sign.

yep, definately not a good sign. hope its good though.

It's a pretty good game, they do a little too much where you have to sit through first-person split-screen but it's still fun to play.

It feels more restricted than COD4, but I haven't really noticed the problem where if you don't move forward then they keep spawning enemies. In the times where I have sat it out and tried to take down all the enemies I got them all and was able to move forward.

Sometimes graphics aren't as good, but for the most part it keeps the same level. Animations are really good, it's interesting to see the stuff that people do.

Weapons are kind of weird, usually you start off with a pretty good weapon, but you never find ammo for it because the only people that have the same weapon are on your side so you kinda have to find dead bodies to get ammo and it doesn't happen often. Then you're stuck with a crappy enemy weapon. Flamethrower is really cool, it doesn't run out of ammo, but it does have a recharge time, you can use it but it after a little bit it'll have to cool down or something so you have to wait to use it again--so, short bursts.

I'm maybe 5 missions into it and it's pretty much a WWII version of COD4, so I think it's worth it. Haven't played online because I'm playing on PC, and gamespy doesn't work on the network. And that's another point--the PC version runs better than the COD4 version ran, so that's good.

It's kind of weird though, the beginning is pretty harsh on the Japanese--I can't imagine anyone from Japan wanting to play this (plus it's an FPS ) It switches around from side to side, you start out fighting the Japanese, then you're a Russian fighting off the invasion of Germany (and your guy is an idiot and keeps getting captured).

I'd say it's a buy, just for fun, it probably won't win GOTY, but it's worth your time. COD4 is still better, but it's missing the Co-op mode, plus some of the fun stuff they added like the Nazi Zombie mode.

It is fun! Great game, it is like playing COD4 but in WWII. Darthviper summed it up pretty well! How do you access the Nazi zombie mode?

thanks for the mini review viper.

I was reading personal reviews on some forums and people are saying that since this is a WWII game, most of the guns are semi-auto which essentially takes some of the fun out of the game when compared to COD4 due to the change in firing mechanics.

Think of it as playing with the G3 most of the time in COD4. Im not sure im going to pick up COD5 after all.
