spoken like a noob. sure it's easy to use but that doesnt make it the best. the ipod is far from "the best" player out there. The sound quality is crap compared to others, not to mention apple and their ridiculous use of only their music file format. Can you take your songs off of your ipod or itunes library and put it to another company's player or to a computer? NO. Can you easily change the internal battery? NO.

I haven't used another MP3 player that noticeably sounds better. Unless it's streaming through a receiver and speaker system I doubt most people will either.

The file format is subjective. Can I take stuff off my iPod and put them on other's computers?? Yes I can. There are several programs for Apple computers that allow you to do this, and I'm sure there are some for Windows and Linux OS.

Why would you need to change the battery?? If you're on a long trip you'd be better off buying a solar charge panel than replacing the batteries over and over. Most of the time they pay for themselves when you do the math.

What do you do? Spend $5,000 per speaker? Bose is "budget" my rear end.
Most people have speakers a lot cheaper than Bose in their homes.

This is so true. I'm building my setup piece by piece, but the thing that matters the most IMO is the receiver.

If you take all the speakers made and you had to categorize them, Bose would fall into the budget speaker section. Are they more expensive then most "budget" speakers? Yes but there quality is pretty much the same.

I would agree somewhat that the receiver is one of the most important parts but it is the whole what came first, chicken or the egg. You need a good receiver but if you don't have quality speakers, what is the point of a good receiver?

Totally agree. The same logic can be applied to MP3 players. If you're using cheap earbuds to listen to the music it doesn't matter what quality it's in because it'll still sound like crap.

I still noticed a bit of an issue tonight as well. More often than not it isn't an issue but tonight was a bit annoying. Guess its kind of like campers you just learn to deal with it.

Apple has control over their software, it's how they stay smart. Unlike Microsoft. Ipod is the only MP3 player worth owning.

The Sony mp3 player sounds way better than an Ipod. Heck, even some sony handphone sounds better than an ipod. Before you go into the earpiece argument, Sony do come with really good quality earphones (the higher end models at least)

I've tested every brand out there, and owned too many to count. Sony Mp3 players do not sound better than any iPod.

Oh yea, I would at least say the ipod delivers in some respects but Bose has to be some of the worst speakers ever made.

I have no need for other brands when I am completly satisfied with the pin drop awsome sound the mix of bose and yamaha deliver's.

I have a friend that just spend 5k for some crazy sound system and let me tell you that my 3k yamaha reciever and bose N10 7.1 sound exact the same.

finished the single player campain last nite.
very cool just what you expect from all COD games.
still for me the best campain so far MW and MW2.

my friend yesturday ask me if it was worth buying and I told him "here you can have it" I am done with it.

to bad the hole hype of these game came crashing down.
I will never get hyped up for a COD Treyarch ever again.

I agree. This game is pretty crap. Trading my copy in for DKCR on friday. Not played this game since I completed the insanely simple, short single player. The multi on this couldn't get me hooked. Played MW2 Multi for quite a while.

Oh boy, here we go. If you are not an audiophile then ok, keep telling yourself that. Don't be a fool to the Bose products. I would love to have you take that argument over to avsforum. Good luck. Like I said before, you wasted 3k on a nice receiver (well I will assume it is nice since you just said Yamaha) but then COMPLETELY wasted your money by using Bose speakers. A good receiver will only get you so far.

Just because you can hear a pin drop doesn't mean you are actually getting quality sound.
