Looks like the majority of my free time will be used to play Gotham City Impostors. It's a nice change of pace from MW3.

If you guys see me on this weekend and need an extra player, shoot me an invite...I'm still down for MW3!

Is there a simple way to open your NAT type? I've tried numerous online guides and stuff and nothing works. Mine's strict.

Though it did go to open when someone left a spec ops lobby I joined. It was wierd because I could change the mission and difficulty etc. then when I turned the game off and went back on it had returned to strict.

"During its 4th Quarter earnings call today, Activision confirmed that a new Call of Duty game will be coming in 2012.

This comes as no surprise since the franchise has seen new titles annually and Modern Warfare 3 has made over a billion dollars. Still, this marks the first time that Activision has plainly stated that a new Call of Duty game will be released this year.

No information on the title was revealed. Previously, reports suggested that Activision may be prepping Black Ops 2, though that hasn't been confirmed. Sledgehammer has been hiring for a new Call of Duty game, and Infinity Ward is working on a next-gen Call of Duty.

More information from Activision's earnings call will be coming shortly."---IGN

Activision is a gaming juggernaut that exists on two things. WoW and CoD. They basically NEED a new CoD every year for them to keep being the money machine they are and meet financial projections for the year. They don't have anything else to sustain them. CoD will be the next Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero. They get a money maker and they can't help but milk it into oblivion.

never being hardcore on COD before but I am going all out on MW3.

Call of Duty is pretty much like Madden and FIFA at this point. Its a cash cow, so they'll release a new edition with minor changes and upgrades every year, and occasional bigger changes. It'll always be a good and entertaining game ... but most of the real gameplay innovation has already occurred.

Only real difference is they have two different developers, so they're creating two simultaneous series -- MW and BOps at this point.

Yeah I think MW3 is my last Call of duty, until they actually make ground breaking changes again. Nothing in the series will never be as breathtaking as Call of Duty 4.

I got into a regular tdm with one of these guys today and he wasn't all that.

So with a new cod game, what setting do you want to see? Do you like the new stuff or old stuff?

I prefer the newer stuff ... just prefer playing with state-of-the-art military toys. Also tend to find the conflicts more relatable with late Cold War or WOT-era warfare ... maybe post-Vietnam forward.

From what I understand, Treyarch isnt allowed to go completely modern. it's some kind of arrangement they have Infinity Ward to keep the two series different, so I assume the new CoD will also be a period game. Vietnam era again more than likely would be my guess. I'm burnt on WWII games, so Id be good with the 60's and 70's again.

:goodpost: I think I remember reading something of that nature back when MW2 came out. I love the Black Ops time setting so if they want to give us another one of those I'd be all for it.

As far as maps go, do you guys like the jungle type maps or the half blown out buildings/ tight maps

I'm a fan of urban maps. Jungle/brush maps always give me trouble since i have a hard time seeing the enemy and they tend to get a bit campier than others. I actually liked "jungle" from BLOPS ok though. It wasn't too brushy I guess.

Same. I actually liked BLOPS a lot for the most part. If they can fix the hit detection issues, it could be a good series.

Lol no kidding. I just bought it used for the PS3 so I could play online with my brother, and man was it a nightmare this past weekend. I'd literally shoot half a magazine at someone, and it'd only register 4-5 hits. :slap

Unfortunately, that's been a Treyarch trademark. They make pretty good games and have some good ideas, but they screw themselves with busted code.
