Probably. Pathetic. I hate revisionist history. That's almost as annoying as all this ANH b.s.. It's friggin' STAR WARS.....PERIOD!!

When the Bond people decide to start renaming their movies for unification and clarity, the world will end.

James Bond and the Dr No
James Bond and the Goldfinger
James Bond and the Spy Who Love Me
James Bond and You Only Live Twice.... :lol

James Bond and The Octopu$$y :rotfl

Considering Sparrow went from Supporting to Main, they could rename them all.

Jack Sparrow And The Pirates Of The Caribbean And The Curse Of The Black Pearl
Jack Sparrow And The Pirates Of The Caribbean And The Dead Man's Chest
Jack Sparrow And The Pirates Of The Caribbean At World's End
Jack Sparrow And The Pirates Of The Caribbean On Stranger Tides
Jack Sparrow And The Pirates Of The Caribbean And Dead Men Tell No Tales

:lol

I really can't top any of these but just for the hell of it "James Bond and Jack Sparrow That's Captain Jack Sparrow and the Curse of the Goldeneyed Octopu$$y That Tells No Tales After It Dies Another Day ie Tomorrow," lol.

The update no one has been waiting for:

Can't just go for the standard trilogy lol

Guy makes a movie once a decade and will now wants to pump out four in eight years?

Avatar 2 and 3 are likely connected in some way, 3 being the climax. But 4 and 5 astound me. They have to be concepts for a streaming series or event show.

People will tire of the thing after two more films... although I believe most are tired now. Perhaps #2 can gain some curiosity and rejuvenate moderate interest, but #3 will suck up any that is generated. Then he's got #4... then #5.

If he tries to connect ALL the films, then he's going to drag the story out so much that the first two kill any chance of getting to 5 (like Alita)... if the first two are connected into a two-parter, like IW/EG, then he has to reset everything for another two movies after that... which as we can see with the MCU is no simple feat.

I have no doubt he'll do a damn good job with whatever he's got, but he's not a great writer and the world is not that interesting (so far) to sustain 4 more movies. The first movie couldn't sustain any interest beyond its initial 3D gimmick -- there's no longevity in rewatching that world for almost anyone. And that's the difference. That's what keeps bringing people back to Star Wars. The need to revisit that universe.

Perhaps Cameron will open up his world into a fuller universe. Otherwise, its like starting off Star Wars in 1977 on Endor with the Ewoks. I doubt that would have jump-started Star Wars like we know it today.

We shall all see...

I'm optimistic. Cameron has never made a bad sequel or even a truly bad film. His weakest films are still watchable.

As for the sequels, I think Avatar 2 will be really the "first" film in this new story line, so it won't be a traditional sequel, but instead it might take a long time after the first film, like in real time, so 13 years later. It will definitely expand the world because Cameron said that was one of his goals, so I expect a lot of storylines being set up in Avatar "2". So A2 = first act, A3 = act 2, and A4 & A5 the Infinity War/Endgame. Unless, "act 2" is A3 and A4, thus leaving number 5 as the final film. Who knows?

I'll say this, by the time Avatar 2 comes out, people might be ready to flock to the theaters like never before, making Avatar 2 the film that revives the film industry and returns things back to they way they were before Covid 19. No film has done that yet. Black Widow ain't doing it. :lol

I'll be completely honest. I didn't even go to see Avatar on the big screen when it came out. The worldbuilding didn't grab me, the concept seemed derivative and I just didn't care. All I remember is buying the game for my iPhone and playing it on some trip. I'll say this though; I am actually excited for these. I went back and watched it, and while it doesn't exactly hold up per se, it's something I can enjoy. Full disclosure I don't care for the story. I'm a human, I'll root for the humans, not the ******* xeno barbarian cats. I think Cameron needs the Gahd Emprah in his life, I think... But it is a new IP, it has the chance to do some interesting things, and I want to support that. It will be funny if it's the first real Post-Covid blockbuster and ends up being far more successful than it would've if it was released in 2015 or something. In an era where Sci-Fi is just cape**** and generic shooty-shooty clones, something with a lush, wondrous planet being its core would be refreshing. Who knows, I might even buy some dollies... But yeah, I'll watch them all and hope they're good. Maybe they'll come to define the 20s or something.
