Okay, with the release of Han I am finally convinced that the Art S Buck base figures are faulty, vastly inferior to the other collectible 1/6 bodies on the market, and SSC really needs to do away with them for use in the STAR WARS line going forward.

The following post showing the SSC Han on the new Generations body used by Hot Toys was the final nail for me: https://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=215493&postcount=516

Sideshow has to know that the Art S Buck bodies are holding these things back and that the figures would be MUCH better overall if used one more proportional bodies like this one.

So, will they notice and listen to this? Or are we stuck with the comparatively lame Art S Buck bodies, forcing us to spend another $20-30 and time to make these look as good as they should?

Or is SSC stuck using these things due to some kind of contract or agreement? Man, I hope not. :(

good post irish. hopefully SSC is reading this, any even better if we could get some answers.

This really isn't meant as a bash. In fact, it's the Art S Buck base bodies (that are not even true SSC creations) that are preventing SSC's great work on these figures from reaching their true potential.

I mean, seriously, just look how much better the Han figure looks... and all he did was stick it on a Hot Toys body.

It's frustrating.

I'd pay a extra 5 bucks a figure if SS could license and use HT's body for their figures.

how about sideshow charges nothing extra and instead they use the millions of dollars they've made on the star wars figures to fund the R&D on a new body?:chew

I've never really had a problem with SSC's 1/6 bodies, but I have to admit that Han looks fantastic with that HT body.

I like that even better. I just would rather not wait another year or two it would take for that. I want better base bodies NOW.

:monkey2

I don't think they have made millions on the Star Wars line...but improvement is always great. So new bodies would be sweet and I too would not mind an increase of 5 bucks a figure to help cover the cost a bit.

That's the whole point. The SSC figures should look that good out of the box!

I agree as well.... SSC bodies are good, but with a little tweaking they could be amazing. That HT Generations body is amazing and I would love to see SSC make similiar advances for their figures.

It would be nice to have a little more range of motion and accurate body shape with those nice sculpts and wonderful costumes... :D

There was a post on the original Sideshow Freaks forum that many of us including myself went into detail on what's wrong with Sideshow's basic body. I think it was Sideshow Dusty (or maybe it was Chicky?) that posted there that they were going to take all the suggestions into consideration.
Major improvements need to be made Sideshow, HT new body is a great place to look for inspiration.

So how hard is it to switch heads onto HT bodies? I'm not a custom guy, is it something a beginer can do?

I was wondering that as well, since i would probably shatter Hans head into a million pieces.

I also truely hope sideshow can design a new body. I will buy each and every Star Wars SS make, but I can't afford another $25 for Hot Toys body for all my Sideshow SW figures.

Sideshow body need to retire. It can't keep up with Hot Toys, Traid and Medicom bodys any more.

it's very easy. just heat the head up with a hair dryer or boiling water and it will pop off. then just stick it on the hot toys neck post. a little superglue in a few spots will keep it on, but also enable you to remove it if you wish.

THat would be fine with me but I'm not gonna start paying $75-80 for these figures. If that's what it will cost to have these have no body errors then I'm out. It's not that I don't want them to be perfect or that I like errors but hey I can only afford so much. If I want to do some PF and most if not all the 12" then they can only cost so much.
